The previously announced changes for drivers CPC come into force from today, which will allow drivers who wish to continue with a only National Driver CPC (for both LGV and PSV) to carry out their training in blocks of 3.5 hours at any time, rather than the previous 7 hours, allowing them greater flexibility. It will also de-couple E-learning from trainer led courses, with up to 12 hours of E-learning allowed. This only applies to National drivers - for drivers wishing to continue to driver internationally, the process remains the same. There are also changes for those wishing to return to professional driving if their DCPC has expired. Driver CPC Changes The regulations for the changes to the Driver CPC have been laid in parliament. The changes include: 1. Introducing a National Driver CPC covering driving in the UK 2. Allowing courses to be 3.5 hours long, rather than 7 hours 3. Decoupling e-learning from trainer led courses It is understood that the changes are due to come into force later this year, but no date has yet been announced. Further changes could also be afoot in the near future, with the authorities looking at introducing a periodic test as an alternative to the National Driver CPC.

Tomorrow (3 December) Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) will update the Driver CPC to make it more flexible. Current drivers will have two options to stay qualified: - Take 35 hours of International Driver CPC training every five years to be able to drive in the UK and EU. This is basically, the no change option with IDCPC remaining the same. - Take 35 hours of National Driver CPC (or a combination of 35 hours of National and International CPC training) every five years to be able to drive in the UK. NDCPC will provide flexibility within delivery with 3.5 hour courses and options for e-learning. The “Return to Driving” option will allow drivers with lapsed DCPC’s to start driving again without having to complete all 35 hours straight away. Instead, they will be able to complete a new seven-hour ‘return to driving’ module. They will still need to complete the further 28 hours of NDCPC or IDCPC within 12 months of the module. We are seeing Driver CPC courses being advertised at £24.75, which includes £8.75 upload fee and vat. Of course there are also wages to cover. This for a 7 hour course. There are also accreditation fees(these were covered during the spike in demand by highly inflated prices by the same company) and power to run on zoom, even from home. Is this a race to the bottom? How can anyone run a business at just over £10 per person per day? Do you see this as great value for money? Does this devalue the Idea of mandatory training?

ARRIVE & DRIVE | Congratulations to Guilherme, from Brazil! 🇧🇷🎉 Guilherme's insights: 🟢 My best advise is to drive like you already know and adapting to the Dutch standards might be the best way. Normal driving according to local rules is the best way. 🚦🇳🇱 🟢 The biggest differences are that Dutch standards require more attention, and all drivers are very loyal to the basic rules. 🟢 The difference that took me longer to adapt to is that in Dutch standards you check if you’re free to go before signaling. ✅➡️ Where I come from the rules say the first thing to do is signal and only afterwards check and go. Also, the driving exam in my country requires drivers to learn maneuvers and procedures that are never used in real life situations, only for the exam. 🟢 Although it took a bit longer than I first thought it would, I had a pretty smooth development and had a very good support. 🤝✨ LEARN MORE 👉 https://lnkd.in/ec2dmY9j #arrivedriveNL #theorycollegeNL #rbwe #dutchdrivinglicense #CBRexam #expatsinthenetherlands
