I am currently preparing a contribution for a Stravinsky volume that kind of absorbs me. The chapter will focus on analytical examinations of Old Igor's music, confronting historical writings (starting with Messiaen's and Boulez's analyses of the Sacre) with contemporary approaches. Beyond the ubiquitous Taruskin, Kholopov, Straus, Horlacher, et alii: is there anything notable or indispensable in Stravinsky studies that you think I should care about and include in my survey? Any leads and opinions are much appreciated.

It was one of those nights, wasn't it?🍸🍺🍾 (still headed home, are we?) 😯😆🤐 .. Good Morning .. 🌞 (or Afternoon in the UK/EUR) (or Evening in Asia) It doesn't really matter, does it? *Nope 🤣 .. So, to continue the rest of my T8 story from Friday, I think? (if you didn't catch it, scroll down) Because it's a good music business tale. To bring you up to speed, we are talking about Tate McRae and how it looks like she's destined for major stardom. .. If you haven't heard of her yet, don't worry you will. I want to take a minute though, and talk about what happens sometimes to a label when they have a great artist. .. In this case, her album was already finished and the label (RCA Records) was literally telling her to stop writing any more new music.. ("Greedy" was blazing up the charts..) .. Now here's where the story gets interesting. Tate (stylized as T8) doesn't listen, and goes into the studio anyway and cuts this entirely new finished song in like *60 minutes..🏆 (Ayelet Schiffman, I hear you laughing) 😂 .. See, the Promotion Dept. budgets for new singles these days, are very finite. There's not this endless supply of 'financial fairy dust' that they can sprinkle all over a new artist until she/he breaks or the song finds success. (this makes 'Promo' a tough job, today) However in this case, if you ask me, they were kind of between a rock and a hard place. .. Because, this song is literally almost hypnotic. ("Greedy" was fire, no doubt..) But, if you ask me I think *this one was an *amazing song and really kind of a missed opportunity, TBH (Why?) .. Well, cuz the 'funky cowgirl' vibe is giving!! 🐎🏆 (It is? YES, Fool..) 😯😆 .. Also, if you ask me they picked the wrong title. The chorus chants, "Kisses To My Exes" who don't give a s**t.. 😯🤣🥇 (I won't spoil the rest, *CLICK on it y'all) .. But, don't be surprised if you start shimmering and sparkling and dancing around your office, your studio or your dirty ass apartment.. 😮🙃🤣 (so put in your earbuds & clean that s*** up) 😆🎧📻😂 You're Welcome, Korey Wells ..
