Introduced in 1929, the BMW Dixi was a landmark car for BMW as it was its first mass-produced passenger car. Based on the Austin 7, the Dixi marked a new era for BMW, which had previously focused on motorcycles and aircraft engines. Not only did this car mark BMW’s entry into the world of passenger cars, but it was also an important step towards establishing the brand we know today. The Dixi was compact in size and had a simple yet elegant design, making it ideal for the urban environment of the time. From a technical standpoint, the BMW Dixi was powered by a 747 cc four-cylinder engine that produced around 15 hp. This allowed the car to reach speeds of up to 50 km/h, which was quite impressive for its time. Although the Dixi did not boast outstanding performance, its reliability and ease of use made it popular among motorists. Thus, the BMW Dixi not only became the company's first passenger car, but also laid the foundation for future models. This car represents the beginning of a new era in the history of BMW, which will soon become one of the leading players in the international automobile market. #bmw #dixi #history #passengercar #1929🚗
