This paper developed a new kind of lightweight broadband multilayer #honeycomb (#HC)-#microwave #absorbing #structure (#MAS), by coating aramid HC with Fe/SiC polymeric paint optimized using effective medium approximations. An environment-friendly, cost-effective, and easily accessible procedure is embraced for the preparation of microwave absorbing paint and diverse coatings at #X-#band. The multi-objective #Jaya's #algorithm is envisioned for the optimum design of multilayered and hybrid HC-MASs. A multi-objective fitness function is integrated into the optimization algorithm to resolve the issue of the thickness-#bandwidth (#BW) tradeoff. ---- Ravi Yadav, Ravi Panwar More details can be found at this link: https://lnkd.in/e56u-3XU

The traditional Japanese structure exhibited an unexpected heat transfer phenomenon in silicon. It is easy to imagine that there is anisotropic heat conduction, but it was totally unexpected that it reverses in the temperature range. We observed the anisotropy reversal of the material thermal conductivity from 1.2 at 300 K to 0.8 at 4 K, with the reversal temperature of 80 K mediated by the transition from a diffusive to a quasi-ballistic regime. #semiconductor #thermalmanagement #phonon #ACSNano https://lnkd.in/gyTpDjGQ

Cheng-Wei Lee, Prashun Gorai and colleagues identified potential ferroelectric compounds with lower switching barriers than AlN. A new switching mechanism is described for multinary wurtzite-type ferroelectrics. Bond ionicity and softness are identified as effective knobs to lower the coercive field. An often overlooked fact: Many Silicon-Carbon Anode Materials may have a high gravimetric capacity (mAh per gram) but have low volumetric capacity (mAh per cc), because of the Si-C particles' low density (low gram per cc because of internal pore volume) and high inactive material content (inactive carbon and silicon carbide). In addition, most mesoporous hard carbon particles cannot be calendared to the required anode electrode density for high energy density EV cells (typically 1.7 g per cc). This article reviews the required densification of anode electrodes necessary to achieve EV cells with high energy density. Notably, one of the authors is Prof. Hong Li, one of the world's pioneer and expert in silicon anode for two and half decades. #evbaateries #silicon
