𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙌𝙪𝙚𝙚𝙣: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙋𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙋𝙞𝙚𝙘𝙚 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝘽𝙤𝙖𝙧𝙙 👑 In the game of chess, the queen's power lies in her scope—the ability to see and reach all angles of the board. Positioned at the center, her scope expands to an impressive 27 squares. Without her, the king is vulnerable, at greater risk of defeat. Interestingly, research suggests that widows tend to live longer than widowers. Could it be that the queen's influence extends beyond the chessboard? To Men: Just as in chess, in life, your queen has the potential to make your life more secure. Have you noticed that the most impactful men often have supportive and empowered partners by their side? Your queen, when empowered and placed at the center, can enhance your life in ways you never imagined. Invest in her, develop her, and watch as she helps you navigate life's challenges. To Women: When you're given a position of power, use it to maximize the potential of your king. Remember, all that is deposited in you is for him. Be mindful not to misuse your power, as it could lead to the demise of your kingdom. Stay loyal to your king, and together, you'll conquer any challenge that comes your way. Let's discuss! Share your thoughts in the comments below.👇👇👇📌 This is me, Ifeoluwa Udoh, a public health physician, infusing creativity into health and life lessons, and today, applying chess to life. Love you all! R-E-S-P-E-C-T The Queen of Soul sang this many years ago. Bonus if you know 😎. I was thinking about the big day today in our country. Whatever happens let’s respect and honor each other and our differences. What would happen in a political discussion if we led with agreement instead of focusing on our differences? What would happen in a business negotiation if we led with something to agree on? What would happen in your personal life if you led with agreement? This does not mean some form of utopia where everyone agrees on everything. That’s a fantasy. What it is, is a suggestion to listen and find places of agreement. Discuss the differences with respect. Compromise if possible. If, not then politely agree to disagree. What would happen? #keepingitreal

As today's "Big Men" battle it out for the top post, let us remind ourselves of our Melanesian roots and the kind of traditional leadership that built egalitarian societies for millenia. This photo taken in the 1880s by Reverend James Chalmers is that of Her Majesty Queen Koloka of Namoa. Koloka was Queen of the Lala (Nara) people who in the present day live in the Kairuku District of Central Province. Here's how Chalmers described Queen Koloka: "The chieftainess, Koloka, and her husband, were most attentive, and reminded one much of kind, loving chiefs and chieftainesses in Eastern Polynesia." With the current debate on equitable distribution of national resources, what lessons can we learn from the egalitarian ideals of the past? How do we resolve the conflict between western social stratification and Melanesian egalitarianism? How to we reconcile western adversarial politics with Melanesian consensus? I wonder what Queen Koloka would have had to say.

Yesterday was the King's official birthday and Trooping the Colours ceremony, which as always was very spectacular. The British are very good at pomp and pageantry and they do it very well. There is one thing that troubles me with these events and that is the honours system. It troubles me because it is recognising something that no longer exists - the British Empire. I'm all for offering recognition where it is due but to recognise something that no longer exists is an anathema to me as is racism. My great grandfather, grandfather and uncles were all recipients of the honours system but the Empire was still in existence and it held much sway then than it does now. Lest we forget, the British Empire whilst it achieved and did great things, was also one of the most brutal empires in existence. Ask the Kenyans during the Mau Mau uprising from 1952 or the Indians at Partition in 1947, if you doubt my assertion. Being a Member, Officer or Commander of the British Empire is an absurd title to feel proud of receiving and displaying after your name and whilst I have no qualms about appreciating and recognising an invididual's contribution to society or whatever it is they've done to deserve that recognition, I think it should be changed to something that is relevant today. The Empire is no longer relevant and for some people it reminds them of the brutality suffered under the name of the Empire. The Commonwealth is relevant today and is such that countries who were not part of the Empire are queuing up to join; perhaps the new honours system could/would incorporate a system based on the Commonwealth. After all 56 independent nations make up the Commonwealth of which the King is the head; this title is not hereditary but Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II expressed her wish that her heir Charles should succeed her as head, which was granted. Should the honours system - British Empire - be maintained given that the Empire is anachronistic or be replaced by something more meaningful and relevant? #lojun24 #advertisingandmarketing #marketing

On this day in 1587, Mary, Queen of Scots, was beheaded at Fotheringhay Castle. After 19 years of imprisonment, she was found guilty of plotting the assassination of her cousin, Queen Elizabeth I. Queen Elizabeth had been in a precarious position. Whilst on the throne, she did not marry nor produce an heir, and on top of that she was controversially a protestant, whilst most of the country remained catholic. She was threatened by her cousin, Mary, who was catholic, married and had a son - many believed Mary's claim to the throne was more legitimate than Elizabeth's. Whilst as monarch in Scotland, Mary's husband died in suspicious circumstances, and the finger pointed towards her as responsible for his death. This caused her to abdicate from her role and flee to England. Elizabeth's role on the throne, was under more threat than ever, so she imprisoned Mary. After four failed plot attempts to free Mary and dethrone Elizabeth, Mary was finally caught red-handed. With personal letters linking her to a plot to murder Elizabeth I, she was sentenced to execution. It was on this day 437 years ago, that she was beheaded. 🔥 The Unsung Heroes: The Immense Power of the Number 2 in Business Success 🔥 🔴 The power of the number 2 person, or the wingman, is immense in any team. They provide crucial insights and wisdom, often steering the ship from behind the scenes. Take Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak; Wozniak's technical genius complemented Jobs' visionary leadership. 🔴 As Jobs said, "Great things in business are never done by one person; they're done by a team of people." Similarly, Warren Buffett credits Charlie Munger for his success, highlighting the importance of a trusted advisor. The number 2 person ensures balance, offering support and perspective that drive the team forward. 📛 In the corporate world, the contributions of the second-in-command are often undervalued, yet they are indispensable. They bring stability, strategic thinking, and a different perspective that can be crucial for decision-making📛
A king may be the most important piece on the chessboard, however, the queen is the most powerful.” 👑 - wisdom of the day 😊🙏 Have a great weekend guys 🩷

As a woman, I hope you have already found that you are a divine Goddess. You are of spiritual royalty. We all are. I like to work with the archetype of the Queen. It helps me to connect to the uplifted truth that makes much better guidance than the self-doubt society may have installed into the system. Entitlement is about the rights you have- according to your title. The Queen has a different entitlement than the maid. She bears a title that gives her different rights. It is your right to be treated respectfully. To have your questions answered. To be treated well. So who do you identify with? #LeadershipDevelopment #ExecutiveCoaching #PublicSpeaking #CorporateTraining #InfluenceAndImpact #authenticityinleadership #executivepresence #impactleadership #BrinkCoaching
