🚨 New Publication Alert! 🚨 Our latest article on digital disconnection policies and regulations has now been published for open access! 📱 What’s it about? While an entire digital disconnection industry has emerged, evidence-based policies and regulations remain underdeveloped. Our study, based on in-depth interviews with 21 experts from organizations in Flanders, Belgium, explores the challenges of developing and implementing such digital disconnection policies across work, school, and family contexts. 🔍 Key findings: A digital disconnection policy paradox exists: while experts advocate for collective solutions, they often fall back on individual responsibility. This highlights a tension between expectations of personal autonomy and the need for systemic regulations. 💡 Why does this matter? 💡 Have you ever wondered how the topics of the International Digital Dialogues are selected? 🌐 The International #DigitalDialogues foster multi-stakeholder dialogue on crucial digital policy matters. From #InternetGovernance to #DataPolicy, #EmergingTechnologies to #DigitalGovernment and everything in between, the dialogues cover a wide spectrum of pressing issues in today's digital landscape. The German Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport (BMDV) and its partner ministries hold regular stakeholder consultations to exchange views on focus topics and inform themselves about current challenges. They invite representatives of civil society, academia, and businesses to include a wide range of perspectives. Those consultations ensure that political approaches and solutions for the digital transformation target current needs and make good social and economic sense. 🤝 For each bilateral Digital Dialogue, the partner ministries then agree on key areas for cooperation and capture them in a work plan. A work plan is usually valid for one or two years.
