New research from MIT Sloan uncovers surprising insights regarding the effectivity of human-AI collaborations. In this recent study, human-AI partnerships showed strong potential, but with some twists. For decision-making tasks, AI alone often outperformed human-AI teams, especially in areas like diagnosing medical cases or identifying deepfakes. Yet, when it came to creative tasks—like generating content, summarizing posts, or designing images—human-AI combinations often excelled. 💡 This suggests that the real strength of AI may lie in supporting creative processes, where it complements human talents rather than replacing them. Organizations looking to implement AI in their workflows can benefit from assessing where human and AI strengths align best. 📈 Business perspective tends to dominate most discussions about artificial intelligence. The vision of increased productivity and strengthening the position of Polish startups globally is certainly enticing… But AI can also be discussed in a different way – by presenting alternative solutions, experiments, and works at the intersection of new technologies and collective imagination. On behalf of Alek Tarkowski (Open Future Foundation, Chair of the Council of the Centrum Cyfrowe Foundation), we invite you to "mAI future: The Many Faces of AI"! These upcoming events will mark the beginning of a series of international initiatives dedicated to broadening the public debate on artificial intelligence as a cultural force and its impact on society. 🤝 This initiative is a result of an alliance between the artistic, business, and innovation sectors, united by a common goal: the public interest. The aim of "mAI future: The Many Faces of AI" is to understand new technologies and explore ways to use them for the benefit of human culture, rather than against it. The series will include discussions with guests from Poland and abroad, networking opportunities, and presentations of artistic works utilizing AI or other advanced technologies in various formats. Don't miss it! 👍 __ 🗣️ mAI future: The Many Faces of AI* – Debate and AI Experience Exhibition at Teatr Studio 🗓️ Warsaw, Poland / October 17-23, 2024 🎟️ Free entry 🔗 More information: https://maifuture.pl/

🌟 Reflecting on the vibrant AAAI Summit at San Diego State University! 💫 Last week, I joined a gathering of AI pioneers at SDSU's Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center. The summit opened with an enlightening keynote by Dr. Michael J. Jabbour, who highlighted the automation potential of AI, revealing that tasks totaling 40 to 70 hours per week could be automated. This sets the stage for a transformative shift in how we approach work. In the panel discussion, we delved into the transformation across industries like healthcare and education through AI, emphasizing AI literacy and the importance of maintaining a curious and optimistic outlook. A heartfelt thanks to Dr. James Frazee, SDSU’s CIO, whose leadership made these insightful discussions possible. 👨🎓 A standout moment was the student panel, where the conversation turned to how AI is being integrated into their learning experience. One unique point was their use of AI-generated notes for study guides, proving extremely useful. The panel also highlighted a profound sentiment: "Build AI with the people, not for people," which underscores the importance of inclusive AI development. 👩🎓 The summit concluded with engaging discussions and left us all energized about the future of AI. Thanks to all the organizers for an unforgettable experience. ❓As we continue to explore and integrate AI into various facets of life, how can we ensure that AI development remains inclusive and beneficial to all segments of society? #AAAI2024 #AIConference #IndustryLeaders #SDSU #FutureOfWork #ResponsibleAI
