Please support The Dalgarno Trust in the Big Give Christmas Challenge. Every gift you give will be doubled during the Big Give campaign week, running from today until Tuesday, 10 December. For example, if you give £10, it becomes £20—or £22.50 with Gift Aid! Donations made through The Big Give will be matched until the £16,000 target is reached. However, if the target isn't met, the match-funding won't be received. Your support is crucial to help fund the community centre and sustain its fantastic free activities, including: - Transforming Young Lives – A youth programme that keeps young people active, engaged, and social with weekly youth clubs, boxing, and football during term time, as well as camps during school holidays. - Improving Health and Well-being – Empowering adults to take charge of their health with fitness classes, nutrition workshops, walking groups, and mental health support sessions. - Tackling Economic Inequality – Operating a weekly food bank for those struggling to buy food, alongside offering wraparound support and signposting to help people overcome challenges. - Lifting People Out of Loneliness – Providing IT skills training and the Emotional Well-being Project, which helps isolated individuals make meaningful social connections. Please donate at: https://lnkd.in/ezQKYquA #thebiggive #ChristmasChallenge #GivingTuesday #donate

📣 It's that time of year again! The Plenitude Consulting team is hosting the Plenitude Games 2024 as part of our efforts to raise money for STOP THE TRAFFIK Group We have formed a variety of groups from 🏋♀️ weightlifting to 🏃♀️ running to 🏊♀️ swimming, all with the goal of raising a combined £5,000 (doubling our efforts from last year) As part of the weightlifting team we are pledging to lift a total of 3M KG❗ throughout the month of July - any donations / words of encouragement are greatly appreciated! 🔗 You can find the donation link here: https://lnkd.in/eRRPvSXA 💡 About Stop The Traffik: Over 50 million people are enslaved and trafficked every year. 1 in 4 are children. Most are women and girls. Unfortunately, this crime is on the rise, and climate change, conflict, and crises around the world continue to raise risk for vulnerable people. When we see people in need, traffickers see an opportunity to make profit, and they make over $500 billion in profit annually. STOP THE TRAFFIK has a solution. Through data-driven prevention, we can stop exploitation before it happens, build resilient communities, and protect vulnerable people from harm. Last year alone, STOP THE TRAFFIK guided over 3000 people to safety who may have otherwise been trafficked. #fundraising #gym #stopthetraffik #plenitudegames2024

This picture is from a ride I did a few weeks ago, and I think it relates very much to my charity project... 👇 "Opportunities don't happen, you create them" As you might know, I am carrying out, all through this year, a very special project: #505. To celebrate my 50th birthday (which was a few weeks ago), I am taking on 5 epic cycling challenges in hopes of raising £5,000 for The William Wates Memorial Trust. WWMT supports around 20-25 charity projects focused on helping young people in really tough situations. Right now there are 21 different charities under their umbrella doing incredible work across the UK, with activities that range from education, arts, work skills and sports. You can see the full list on their website: https://buff.ly/3UnMqZB These charities provide crucial resources, support, and opportunities for kids and teens facing major challenges like poverty, homelessness, abuse, and more. A harsh reality that no one should ever face, but that we can help to change. Having raised funds and volunteered with WWMT before, I can confirm that the impact of their work is immeasurable and deeply inspiring. And, by chipping in whatever you can to my fundraiser, you'll be helping WWMT keep these lifelines up and running. Opportunities don't happen, we create them. And we can do that for those who desperately need them. Even a few bucks goes a long way when we all come together. The more we can raise, the more young lives get impacted in a positive way during their darkest times. So if you've got some spare change lying around, or just feel like kicking in what you can, it would mean the world. Let's make this Friday extra rewarding: https://buff.ly/3V76hNC

Why Lexi is doing this challenge? 1. Charities✨ Giving back to them and helping smaller charities is so important to me. These are the charities who have a direct effect on people's lives like mine. 2. Raise awareness for women's rugby🏉 To raise awareness of women's rugby and hopefully show people the power it has to inspire others. It is more than a game though, it is a community, a family, a way of life. It has given me so much. The girls inspire me everyday with their resilience and determination. I hope to show others why I am inspired by them so much, and hopefully encourage those who have not yet see it, to just give it a go. To increase engagement and get more support out there for the players. Eventually it would be great for them to receive equal pay and treatment to their male counterparts. They play the same game! All it takes is people to see how great it is, and not to compare the male game to the female game, they are both totally different. Also, there is nothing wrong with supporting both males and females. It doesn't have to be one or the other. 3. Inspire⚡ Lastly to inspire others to use what equipment they have to do what they can. So if all you have is trainers, then you can go out for a walk. I have the wheelchair I have, so I do what I do. I don't use a sport chair to demonstrate this to people. You don't need expensive kit to be fit and active. In this economic climate it is very difficult for people to afford expensive equipment, so doing what you can with what you have could never be more poignant.
