Welcome to the witness interviews of the 2024 by side Technology Awards. Now Simcor won the Best by side eyeball or investment Booker record platform in this year's BT Awards. And joining me is Christian Croman from Simcorp, who is Chief Executive of Simcorp. So welcome, Christian. It's really good to see you. Thanks for taking a bit of time with us today and congratulations to you and of course to all your colleagues at some call for this win. Thank you very much, Victor. It's great to see you today as well. And we obviously extremely humble and honored by receiving this award again, I would say, but it's certainly great to receive it. So thank you very much and great to see you today. Good, good. Now as I mentioned a few moments ago, Simple 1, the best eyeball platform category in this year's VST awards. What I want to know from you Christian then is what do you believe differentiate some cause I've or from other similar offerings? In what is it has to be said as a mature and highly competitive marketplace right now. So what is it that is unique about some calls eyeball that kind of? That differentiates it from other players. Yeah, that's a great question. Reality building an iPhone has really been what we've been doing for many, many years. That that's the whole idea that started Simcorp many years ago. So that general fundamental philosophy of having a real time view of your positions has always been driving us. So obviously as, as the world has become more complex and and our customers are are doing more and more sophisticated investments, we need to make sure that eyeball fundamentally captures the investment universe. But also caters for more and more complex data structures, et cetera. So I would almost tempted to say what continues to set us apart is that it's real time, it's all data, all asset classes and we somehow stayed true to that. That's also why it's great to get recognized again for continuing down that path. Yep. OK. I also want to mention, talk a little bit about some calls, one platform here. Can you talk me through the role? Some cause eyeball plays in the recently unveiled simple one platform and I think the second part of that question Christian is what are the other platforms and or products that are being folded into some core one that makes it so compelling from an end user perspective? Yeah, great question. Right. So, so this year we've we've kind of full blown low launched a SIM card 1. So, So what is SIM card 1? So it's it's ultimately the entire capabilities of what Simcorp has to has to offer, right. So if we quickly go through that, that's obviously underpinned by the platform, it's underpinned by the investment Book of Records to a certain extent also the sister of the investment book of master of the accounting Booker Records, that's the data, that's the platform that is what makes everything else works, right. So on top of that. We do client reporting, allowing our clients to communicate to to their clients and we do data management which we added to the lineup some years back. And obviously the big news this year is the addition of actual home and to the same family that offers optimization and sophisticated risk capabilities. What is also included a SIM card 1 is the link to what we call the Simcorp ecosystem. So we have around 130 other technology firms that have connected to the platform, which ultimately allows our clients to tap into really small variants with innovative firms all the way up to big recognized firms and tap into their innovation. But it's all really underpinned by the ibal. Yeah, that's the entire justification for why the Simple 1 exists. And that's also why, you know, once again, that's the starting point. There's also the endpoint of what we do, but it really gives a full comprehensive byside value proposition with all the constituents. I just went through. Yep, good. OK, let's cross our minds forward a little bit and talk about some calls right on what is on that radar right now in terms of new features and or functionality that is looking to? To release into the eyeball at some foreseeable point in the future, you know, what might those enhancements be and how might they kind of impact users of the platform? Yeah. So let's, uh, maybe start a little bit on, on the technology vision of syncope. Once again, having the eyeball with the comprehensive capability as we have also allows Simcorp to innovate on top of that eyeball. And then way we do that is by building a very contained, very nimble cloud native applications, if you will, that solve very specific use cases, typically use cases that have a very large computational. Um, challenge, if you will, Yeah. So that's really where cloud come into play. Great example is full performance attribution calculations is typically something that is quite comprehensive. We can now do those things intraday because we're taking full advantage of the eyeball, which is real time already and utilizing cloud to that. So basically innovate ourselves on top of all the capabilities that the eyeball presents then obviously. It would be a strange conversation. Not to mention AI, Yep, that's all left front and center of what we do. I would say especially the last couple of years, it's gone from something people talked about to something people actually do now. I would say real use cases, real great business cases out there. We're doing it in a few different ways. So obviously we're building copilots to all the cloud native capabilities we built, which gives people actually. They accelerate their user experience. But we also start to put kind of what I would say more analytical AI into optimizing the workflows of the capabilities as we go through. I would say maybe finally, obviously we are still dealing with a world that where there's fee pressures and people need to optimize. So the deliverables of the delivery options of the eyeball is quite important as well. I'll say all new clients more or less take the software as a service. Version, if you will, but we actually allow our clients to move along that value chain as it fits into their timeline, if you will. And finally, we now added what we call business services. Where we are operating either the entire eyeball or the parts of the eyeball on behalf of our clients. Once again, we're innovating on top of our own capabilities. So lots going on. Sounds like it. It's a really good point to finish our conversation on today, Christian, it sounds like some core has got. Lots on the plate right now, on his plate right now and and certainly looking forward to lots of interesting stuff going on further down the line. And of course, everybody at some point, I know there are lots and lots of people who sit behind the scenes who do an amazing job at bringing this technology to market.
