It is another draw at UEFA EURO 2024, the second in one day, as England 🏴 and Denmark 🇩🇰 finish their match in a one to one draw, the exact same score as it was after 90 minutes in their UEFA EURO 2020 semifinal. Harry Kane scored in that semifinal match, and he would score against the Danes at a European Championship again - this one on seventeen minutes through an excellent pass from Kyle Walker, that bounced off Andreas Christensen's legs before landing straight to the Bayern München forward. Morten Hjulmand then scored what is surely one of the best goals of the tournament with a blast from long range that went off the left post and in; Denmark played very well, outshooting England 16-12, 7-4 on target with 51 % possession, but they could not find a winning shot and neither could their opposition as the two gain one point each from this result. That said, Denmark are now competing with Slovenia and Serbia for the second direct spot in the round of sixteen, as England may have done enough to qualify for the knockouts with four points; the Danes were in a similar situation in 2021 at the last European Championship, finishing above Finland and Russia by defeating the Russians 4-1 in Copenhagen while Finland struggled against the Belgians, one of the best teams in Europe, in an 0-2 defeat. The Danes currently have the advantage as they sit in second place, with the tiebreaker currently being disciplinary points; they will play Serbia in Munich on Tuesday at 21.00 (CEST), while England faces Slovenia in Cologne at the same time. #football #soccer #euro2024 #uefaeuro2024 #em2024 #denmark #danmark #england

Austria 🇦🇹 win Group D in yet another incredible group finish at UEFA EURO 2024! They finish above France 🇫🇷 and the Netherlands 🇳🇱 on the final day of the group, but they also gained a massive amount of help from Poland 🇵🇱, who, despite already being eliminated prior to this match, showed that they had the courage to play for a crucial result in Dortmund, drawing 1-1 on a pair of penalties from talismanic strikers Kylian Mbappé and Robert Lewandowski. In Berlin, the Austrians dominated their match early after Donyell Malen deflected the ball into his own net to open the scoring; the Austrians launched five shots on target afterward, two of which were successful, as Romano Schmid and Marcel Sabitzer would both score in the second half to grab leads and ultimately the 3-2 victory. Austria finishes top of Group D with a 2-0-1 record, six points and a +2 goal differential; they will play the runner-up of Group F, currently Türkiye, next Tuesday in Leipzig. France are second at 1-2-0 and a +1 goal difference, five points; their two goals were an own goal and a penalty, so they have not scored themselves in normal play - they will play the runner-up of Group E, currently Belgium, in Düsseldorf on Monday. The opponent for the Netherlands is unknown, as that will be determined on Wednesday by the final third place ranking. #football #soccer #euro2024 #uefaeuro2024 #em2024 #france #poland #polska #netherlands #holland #nederland #austria #österreich

Now that all the games of the first matchday in the UEFA EURO 2024 groups have been played, we can finalise our summary. Group D: The Netherlands won their opening match 2:1 against Poland. In the second match of the group, we saw a close battle between Austria and France. The match was hard fought, but always fair. The number of yellow cards in Austria's favour may tell a different story, but this was down to the referee's line, who could have given the French 1 or 2 more yellow cards. The game was overshadowed by the injury to Kylian Mbappe, who had an unfortunate collision with Danso's shoulder. Austria deserved a draw. Unfortunately, this result was cancelled out by an own goal. France were certainly hoping for a better performance. In any case, it remains exciting in this group, as all four teams are roughly on an equal footing. Group E: Belgium unexpectedly lost to Slovakia and are therefore already under pressure. Based on recent results, a defeat was not to be expected, as Belgium were among the favourites before the tournament. Ukraine did not live up to their own expectations and rightly lost to Romania by a clear 3:0. The Romanians' performance was exceptionally good and if they can build on this game, they will also reach the knockout round. Ukraine must improve considerably and their goalkeeper in particular should try to forget his mistakes as quickly as possible. Group F: Turkey put on a great performance and won clearly against the newcomers to the European Championship. Georgia managed to equalise in the meantime, but were otherwise unable to put up much of a fight against the Turks. The Turkish fans, who whistled loudly during the Georgian national anthem, were a negative factor before the game. This has nothing to do with fair play and a team that has reached the finals for the first time in its history deserves more recognition and respect. We saw what we expected to be a close match between Portugal and the Czech Republic. Even though there was an unpenalised foul before the winning goal, I think the victory was justified based on the final phase of the second half. It's nice to see that Portugal are no longer solely dependent on the performance of Cristiano Ronaldo. I'm looking forward to seeing how the second group match day develops and what we can conclude before the final group matches. #euro2024 #football

Day 6 of UEFA EURO 2024 comes to an end with Scotland 🏴 and Switzerland 🇨🇭 sharing the points in the second draw of the tournament, a final result of one to one. Fabian Schär deflected the ball into his own net in the thirteenth minute, but the goal was credited to Scott McTominay afterwards; Switzerland would level the score thirteen minutes later thanks to a Xherdan Shaqiri strike from long range into the top-left corner, but despite numerous attempts from both sides, neither one could pick up the additional two points necessary. This puts Switzerland on 4 points, behind only the Germans with 6; those two will play each other in the decider on Sunday, 19.00 (CEST) in Frankfurt, with the winning side likely to face an easier quarterfinal opponent; in the case of a draw, Germany finishes top of the group. Unlike the Germans, who officially qualified earlier today, Switzerland has not officially confirmed their place, but unofficially, since even if they finish third in the group, their four points would put them at the top of the third place ranking. As for Scotland, who are on one point, they will go to Stuttgart at the same time on Sunday to face Hungary, who have zero after losing both of their prior matches to Switzerland and Germany; if the Scots win, they can qualify for their first ever knockout stage at a major tournament as they would be on four points, thus through to the last sixteen - any other result and their tournament is over. #football #soccer #euro2024 #uefaeuro2024 #em2024 #scotland #switzerland #schweiz #suisse #svizzera #svizra

Spain wins 2024 UEFA Euro Cup beating England 2-1 in final The goals for Spain were scored by Nico Williams and Mikel Oyarzabal BERLIN, July 15/ The national football team of Spain won the 2024 UEFA Euro Cup edging out Team England 2-1 in the final match of the prestigious European football tournament in Berlin late on Sunday night. The goals for Spain were scored by Nico Williams (47th minute) and Mikel Oyarzabal (86th) minute. Cole Palmer scored for England in the 73rd minute of the match. Spain is now the most titled national team of the UEFA Euro Cups as it won the European championship four times already - in 1964, 2008, 2012 and in 2024. It is followed by Germany, which won the Euro Cups in 1972, 1980 and 1996. It was a second straight defeat for England in the Euro Cup finals. At the previous Euro Cup in 2020 England also reached the final, where it lost to Italy in a penalty shootout (1-1; 2-3). Team England never won a UEFA Euro Cup. Spain started the championship in Group B and won all three matches defeating Croatia 3-0, Italy 1-0 and Albania 1-0. In the play off matches the team continued with its winning streak beating Georgia (4-1), Germany (2-1 in extra time) and France (2-1). The 2024 UEFA Euro Cup was played in Germany between June 14 and July 14. Matches were held in the German cities of Berlin, Dortmund, Munich, Cologne, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Leipzig, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen and Dusseldorf. #business #finance #financialservices

The third day of the round of sixteen at UEFA EURO 2024 is Monday, 1. July. Here are the two matches taking place in Germany as the second half of the year begins. 🇫🇷 FRANCE vs. BELGIUM 🇧🇪 (18.00 - DÜSSELDORF): - France finished second in Group D, with a 1-2-0 record; they started their campaign with a 1-0 victory over Austria, and the two draws were 0-0 against the Netherlands and 1-1 against Poland. Their two goals scored were an own goal against the Austrians and a penalty against the Poles. Belgium finished second in Group E with a 1-1-1 record, losing their opening match to Slovakia 0-1, defeating Romania 2-0, and then drawing Ukraine 0-0. - Les Bleus' last meeting against Belgium was in the UEFA Nations League, defeating the Red Devils by a 3-2 score. Karim Benzema, Kylian Mbappé, and Theo Hernández were the goalscorers for France, while Yannick Carrasco and Romelu Lukaku got on the scoresheet for Belgium. 🇵🇹 PORTUGAL vs. SLOVENIA 🇸🇮 (21.00 - FRANKFURT): - The primetime match features Portugal and Slovenia at Deutsche Bank Park. Portugal finished their group 2-0-1, defeating Czechia 2-1 and Türkiye 3-0 before losing to a now-eliminated Georgia side by a 2-0 scoreline. Slovenia surprisingly drew all three of their group matches, 1-1 against Denmark and Serbia and then 0-0 against England. - Portugal and Slovenia have played against each other once in their history, an international friendly back in March as both teams were preparing for this tournament; incredibly, Matjaž Kek's Slovenia won it 2-0 against the main eleven for the Portuguese, with Adam Gnezda Cerin and Timi Elšnik the goalscorers. #football #soccer #euro2024 #uefaeuro2024 #em2024 #germany #france #belgium #belgië #belgique #belgien #portugal #slovenia #slovenija

Day 10 of the UEFA EURO 2024 tournament, the first decision day from the group stages, is Sunday, 23. June. Group A is first up, and here are the two matches taking place at the same time, 21.00 (CEST). 🇨🇭 SWITZERLAND vs. GERMANY 🇩🇪 (GROUP A - 21.00, FRANKFURT): - Switzerland are currently on four points, 1-1-0 with the victory coming against Hungary by a 3-1 score and the draw being against Scotland 1-1. They simply need a draw to confirm knockout stage qualification in a top two spot, regardless of what happens in the match between Scotland and Hungary. A win is the only possible scenario where they win the group over Germany (as they would have 7 points and Germany 6), as a draw or German win means that the hosts will be going to Dortmund and not Berlin for their last sixteen matchup. Germany are 2-0-0 at this tournament, with a goal difference of +6 following a 5-1 win over Scotland and a 2-0 win over Hungary. - Germany and Switzerland last played each other in a UEFA Nations League group in 2020; the match in Switzerland was a 1-1 draw, the reverse in Germany ending 3-3. This was in the final year of Joachim Löw's term as German coach - since then, Hans-Dieter Flick and Julian Nagelsmann have been in the role, each with their own different tactics. 🏴 SCOTLAND vs. HUNGARY 🇭🇺 (GROUP A - 21.00, STUTTGART): - The other match of the day is in Stuttgart, featuring Scotland, who are 0-1-1 in the group with a -4 goal difference after a 1-5 defeat to Germany and a 1-1 draw with the Swiss; they take on Hungary, who are one point behind the Scots at 0-0-2, following two defeats by two goals each, 1-3 against Hungary and 0-2 against Germany. A Scottish win means likely knockout qualification in third place, as goal difference would go Switzerland's way should they lose to Germany by less than four. Hungary can finish third in the group at best, as a win means they finish on three points with goal difference being involved in the ranking - their knockout qualification is not certain regardless of a win. Both teams would be certainly eliminated in the case of a draw. - Scotland and Hungary have not faced each other since 2018, a 1-0 Scottish win in Budapest in a friendly; the prior match between the two was played in 2004, and all of them have been international friendlies; this is the first time they will take part in competition. Looking forward to what these matches will bring and how Group A will finish. Best of luck to all four teams taking part! #football #soccer #euro2024 #uefaeuro2024 #em2024 #switzerland #schweiz #suisse #svizzera #svizra #germany #deutschland #scotland #hungary #magyarország

The second day of the round of sixteen at UEFA EURO 2024 is Sunday, 30. June. Here are the two matches taking place in Germany, involving two of Europe's powerhouses and two surprise teams with impressive styles of play. 🏴 ENGLAND vs. SLOVAKIA 🇸🇰 (18.00 - GELSENKIRCHEN): - England finished undefeated in the group stage, with a 1-2-0 record in a group they were expected to dominate; their only victory came 1-0 vs. Serbia, and their two draws since then were 1-1 vs. Denmark and 0-0 vs. Slovenia. Slovakia finished with one less point in a group where all four teams finished tied on points (the first time in EURO history), 1-1-1 and third in the group with a 1-0 upset over Belgium, 1-2 vs. Ukraine, and a 1-1 draw vs. Romania that saw both teams go through. - England are 5-1-0 against Slovakia in their history, with a 2-1 win in 2017 being the most recent encounter. These two teams did play at UEFA EURO 2016 however, and it was a 0-0 draw; Slovakia are looking to count on that and England's recent record to pull off a possible extra time upset here. - England are the heavy favourite, with Google predicting them to have a 67 % chance of winning in the ninety; there is a 22 % chance of extra time and an 11 % chance of Slovakia taking the match. 🇪🇸 SPAIN vs. GEORGIA 🇬🇪 (21.00 - COLOGNE): - Spain are the only perfect team at this European Championship with a 3-0-0 record without conceding a single goal; add in the fact that they did it in the toughest group out of all of them and they are now the heavy favourite to win the tournament, with a 3-0 win vs. Croatia, 1-0 vs. Italy, and 1-0 vs. Albania. They take on Georgia, who defeated a similar tiki-taka tactic used by Portugal in their first win in EURO history, a 2-0 result that saw them advance with a 1-1-1 record and third in Group F after losing their opening match with Türkiye and drawing their previous match 1-1 with Czechia - they are looking to count on that to defeat a Spanish squad that plays much the same way. - Spain and Georgia were drawn in the same World Cup qualifying group and EURO qualifying group in the last four years, and the results were this: 2-1 to Spain away, 4-0 to Spain at home (WC), 7-1 to Spain away, 3-1 to Spain at home (EURO). A 7-1 result in a knockout match is almost impossible, but recent history is on Spain's side for this one to score at least three goals, possibly even in one half like they did with Croatia. - Google says there is an 81 % chance of Spain winning, a 13 % chance of a draw, and a 6 % chance of Georgia making it in their already history-making tournament. If Georgia defy the odds, it would cause great joy across their country; they have 90 + another possible 30 difficult minutes to get through first before quarterfinal football is considered. Should be a great day of football as the knockout stage is underway! #football #soccer #euro2024 #uefaeuro2024 #em2024 #germany #england #slovakia #slovensko #spain #españa #georgia #საქართველო

Day 4 of UEFA EURO 2024 is Monday, 17. June. Here is the daily schedule: 🇷🇴 ROMANIA vs. UKRAINE 🇺🇦 (GROUP E - 15.00, MUNICH): - Romania finished first in their qualifying group, placing above a Swiss team ranked higher than them with an undefeated 6-4-0 record in qualifiers. Edward Iordănescu's side will take on a Ukrainian squad that defeated both Bosnia/Herzegovina and Iceland to book one of the final three spots at this tournament through the playoff - in qualifiers, the Ukrainians finished third in a difficult group involving England and Italy. - Romania and Ukraine have not faced each other since May 2016, which was a 4-3 win for Ukraine in a pre-EURO international friendly. Both teams made that tournament back in the day, but were knocked out in the groups (Romania had 1 point, Ukraine 0). 🇧🇪 BELGIUM vs. SLOVAKIA 🇸🇰 (GROUP E - 18.00, FRANKFURT): - Belgium finished undefeated in their qualifying group, finishing first with a 6-2-0 record and a +18 goal difference (22-4). They are heavily favoured to win this group, but it starts against a Slovak team that finished 7-1-2 in their qualifying group with a +9 goal difference (17-8), only behind a star-studded Portuguese side. - Belgium and Slovakia have not played each other in a match since 2013 - as a matter of fact, all three of their matches in history are international friendlies. Belgium are 2-1-0 against the Slovaks all-time (1-1, 1-1, 2-1). 🇦🇹 AUSTRIA vs. FRANCE 🇫🇷 (GROUP D - 21.00, DÜSSELDORF): - Austria placed second in their qualifying group, impressively going 6-1-1 in their eight matches and then following up with the fastest-scored goal in international history at just six seconds in a friendly against Slovakia. Ralf Rangnick's side has been impressive throughout the last year, but this will be their toughest test as they take on France, who have made two World Cup Finals in the last six years. France went an unbeaten 7-1-0 in their qualifying group, even defeating the second-best team in the Netherlands by a 4-0 score in one match. - Austria and France have faced each other twice in the last two years, in the UEFA Nations League; the match in Vienna ended in a 1-1 draw, but France won the reverse by a 2-0 score. Looking forward to another exciting day of football from Germany! #football #soccer #euro2024 #uefaeuro2024 #em2024 #germany #romania #românia #ukraine #україна #belgium #belgië #belgique #belgien #slovakia #slovensko #austria #österreich #france

It is a four-match Day 12 at UEFA EURO 2024, as Groups C and D are settled on Tuesday, 25. June. Here is the schedule for decision day, with eight teams, a full third of the field, taking part at four venues across Germany. 🇫🇷 FRANCE vs. POLAND 🇵🇱 (GROUP D - 18.00, DORTMUND): 🇳🇱 NETHERLANDS vs. AUSTRIA 🇦🇹 (GROUP D - 18.00, BERLIN): - France, who are 1-1-0 in Group D with a single goal for and none conceded, head to Dortmund to take on Poland, who are already eliminated at 0-0-2 with losses to the Netherlands and Austria. In the other match in Berlin, the Netherlands, who are tied for first in the group with a 1-1-0 record, take on Austria, who are 1-0-1 after losing to France by one but winning against Poland by two. A point for Austria in that match means that three teams from this group will advance to the knockout stages, but the Dutch, who can finish first in the group and currently hold the lead on goals scored, will not be an easy test. - France and Poland faced each other in the round of 16 at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, with the French victors 3-1; in a way, the 0-0 draw meant that France played a role in eliminating the Poles in the second consecutive major tournament. The Netherlands and Austria played in the group stage of UEFA EURO 2020, with the end result being 2-0 to the Dutch. 🇩🇰 DENMARK vs. SERBIA 🇷🇸 (GROUP C - 21.00, MUNICH): 🏴 ENGLAND vs. SLOVENIA 🇸🇮 (GROUP C - 21.00, COLOGNE): - Denmark are 0-2-0 in the group, having drawn both of their matches with Slovenia and England. Serbia are not too far behind, having also drawn Slovenia in a late finish but losing to England on a single goal. England are the most favoured team in this group, 1-1-0 and almost certainly into the knockout stage; Slovenia, like Denmark, are also 0-2-0. There are three teams all within a point of each other, and it is possible that one of them can qualify with three draws, but if two teams with one or two points lose their matches, they are certainly eliminated from knockout football. - Denmark and Serbia played in an international friendly in March 2022, while both teams were preparing for the World Cup tournament; the Danes won by a final result of 3-0. England's last match against Slovenia was a FIFA World Cup qualifying match in 2017, a 1-0 win courtesy of a ninetieth-minute goal from Harry Kane. The last two decision days have seen epic finishes in Group A and Group B - will we see another in one of these two? #football #soccer #euro2024 #uefaeuro2024 #em2024 #germany #france #poland #polska #netherlands #holland #nederland #austria #österreich #denmark #danmark #serbia #srbija #србија #england #slovenia #slovenija
