It's quite painful to see the farming sector - particularly smaller farmers - being whipped up into stress and anger, for the sake of wealthier land owners, many of whom bought land specifically as a tax dodge. The farmers I follow agree with Rupert, the rule changes encourage better succession planning which will mean very few farmers ever pay any of this tax. But, it will affect land values in favour of small farmers and catch tax avoiders hoping to use land to hoard more wealth.
