🚗 Imagine if your car could recognize your face and only allow the owner to drive it. Or if its safety systems could detect not just driver inattention, but also medical conditions and emotions. These advanced features are becoming a reality thanks to Driver Monitoring Systems (DMSs) in software-defined vehicles (SDVs). We spoke with Michael Horani, Director of Advanced Engineering at Mitsubishi Electric, at CES® 2024 to learn how Mitsubishi Electric is leading the way in DMS innovation with the help of BlackBerry® QNX® and BlackBerry IVY®.

Insights into our test site 🚗 🛣️ Himanshu Walia, ADAS engineer at AVL Deutschland GmbH, tested the results of the VVM project using critical traffic scenarios on our test environment. In the last two weeks, scenarios of our tests have already been presented on the . Today follows the last scenario. 🎥 Data acquisition on different road surfaces and in different weather conditions 🛣️🌧️🚶♂️🚗 The prototype is positioned behind a simulated vehicle that brakes suddenly. In order to test different weather conditions under real conditions, the road surface is moistened with different amounts of water. The scenario is used to understand the relationships between road friction and different road surfaces and weather conditions. 🚗📊 #avlzalazone #adas #vvmproject

🛡️ Excited to Present at the 2024 Airbag Symposium in Mannheim! 🛡️ After two years, the 16th International AIRBAG symposium on Integral Car Safety Systems is finally back, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it with Continental. From November 25-27, you can find us in Mannheim, showcasing some of our latest safety innovations. At our booth, we’ll be presenting Sensors for EVs and our Driving Simulator with Online Crash Severity Prediction—both designed to drive the future of vehicle safety. On November 26, I’ll be giving a talk on “Simulation of the Precrash Phase for Function Development and Visualization.” This is a fantastic opportunity to dive into how simulation helps us develop and visualize key safety functions, advancing our work in critical crash scenarios. If you're interested in learning more about using real-world data for simulation, don’t miss the poster session by Jens R. Ziehn from the Fraunhofer IOSB Institute on November 26. Jens will share insights on the AVEAS-Projekt, which is researching high-risk driving scenarios. Looking forward to connecting with many of you at booth 10 to discuss the future of airbag technology and automotive safety. Let’s shape the future of mobility together! See you in Mannheim! #AirbagSymposium #ContinentalAutomotive #VehicleSafety #Innovation #Simulation
