We need to push technology rather than let it push us, and to make soulful technology that fuses the best of human and machine capabilities.   Just as the technological revolution has begun, it’s time for a human revolution that emphasizes the unique qualities of humanity, such as creativity, empathy, and diverse views, to direct technology for the benefit of all involved in the travel industry.   It’s time for humans to harness the power of technology for the greater good of travel.

What will the future of #travel look like? During my conversation with Melissa Ow, James Cheo, CFA, CAIA, FRM Cheo, and moderator Raini H.. at the Tourism Industry Conference 2024 by  Singapore Tourism Board last Friday, we looked into this question in depth and how technology can help  businesses adapt to the evolving travel landscape post-pandemic. On thing we’re seeing is that travelers today are planning for more personalized experiences that allow for deeper connections with the destinations they visit. We believe technology will be a big enabler to help travelers hit the right spots… and we’re seeing this take shape in real time. Earlier this week at I/O, we announced an expanded partnership with STB to create immersive AR experiences of 30 locations in Singapore directly on Google Maps later this summer. With this, we are unlocking a new way for people to interact, engage and discover #Singapore’s vibrant culture and history…like viewing virtual flowers at Gardens by the Bay on Street View remotely, or watching a ceremonial dragon dance at the heart of Chinatown on Lens in Maps when they visit. These are just one of the many innovations that are changing up the travel industry. I'm excited to see how the future of travel will continue to be shaped. Story Time 😁✌️ During my recent trip to Tokyo, Japan, I was struck by the seamless blend of traditional and modern elements in the city. From exploring the historic temples of Asakusa to experiencing the cutting-edge technology in Akihabara, every moment was an adventure. One of the highlights was visiting the bustling Tsukiji Fish Market and tasting fresh sushi right at the source. The efficiency of the public transportation system made it easy to navigate the city and discover hidden gems.
