🔬 Schrödinger’s Cat & Medical Device Uncertainty: A Parallel Thought Experiment 🐾 In the world of medical devices, uncertainty in measurement can be as life-altering as Schrödinger’s famous thought experiment. Imagine a medical device—like a heart rate monitor or a glucose meter—where the accuracy of measurements is uncertain. Just like the cat’s life in Schrödinger's box depends on a quantum event, patient outcomes can depend on these small margins of error. #SZUTEST #MedicalDevices #MDR #EU7452017 #MeasurementUncertainty #SchrodingersCat #ClinicalDecisionMaking #DesignValidation #MedicalSafety

When a medical device makes it to the hospital, you know it’s been through a gauntlet of science! We’re entering the wild world of materials testing in the medical device field – you know, the stuff that makes sure medical devices are safe, strong, and ready for action! Imagine a hip implant; it’s like the MVP of body parts! Every step, jump, and dance move puts stress on it. Scientists mimic these movements in the lab by putting materials under intense pressure, bending, twisting, and stretching them to see if they can handle it. You can read the article on FTIR/micro analysis testing in our newsletter: https://lnkd.in/ggjwCUxb #FTIR

When Your X-ray Machine Fails What's The Next Step? Here's a classic example of a collimation failure. This image indicates that there is far too much "cut off" on the right and bottom edges. This can result in: - increase in repeat rates, and - increase in patient dose What do you do as a medical imaging administrator when there's a failure of your X-ray machine like this or otherwise? Contact JF Medical Physics and we can discuss the impact of these failures on patient care. Making a service call right away, "might" not be the most appropriate decision, especially if it does not impact patient care, and costs you $$$$.
