Meet John Galaba, a farmer and Simusolar Tanzania partner, empowered by solar energy. Before purchasing a solar pump, John's farming output relied on petrol-powered irrigation systems. This proved increasingly unreliable due to the rising cost and inconsistent availability of fuel, and unpredictable rain seasons. Simusolar provides sustainable, affordable, and reliable solar-powered irrigation pumps for climate-smart smallholder farming. The company has served over 1,500 families in Tanzania alone. Farmers like John using Simusolar's solar-powered irrigation systems spend on average 42% less than they did on petrol-powered systems, and 72% report increased incomes due to higher yields and lower operational costs.
