We are deeply moved and inspired by the heartfelt thank-you video from Allkin Singapore. Their words of gratitude and the uplifting stories of lives positively impacted by our collective efforts are a powerful reminder of the truth - it is more blessed to give than to receive. The smiles and heartfelt testimonies shared in the video reaffirm the significant difference we are making together and ignite our passion to advance our mission: to empower and support individuals in achieving better heart health and a better quality of life. To all who journey with us in making a positive impact, THANK YOU for being part of this mission. #SingaporeHeartFoundation #SHF #YourHeartWeCare #Gratitude #MakingADifference #CommunityImpact Geoffrey Ong Huay Cheem Tan

I presented my work on The Global Flourishing Catalyst Coalition (GFCC) at this year's 2024 Gross Global Happiness (GGH) Summit at the University for Peace (UPEACE) - UN Mandated in Costa Rica. It was enormously helpful and uplifting. See my 3 takeaways below for a taste! Then apply 🔜 by 1 Sept 2024 to speak at next year's GGH. I'm so grateful I took the leap to apply - and said "yes" to the invitation. (Do it!) Questions? 📨 Leave a comment or DM! ### 3 Takeaways from Nate's GGH 2024 Experience 1) 🧘🏽♂️ Flourishing isn't something we just "do." As the Inner Development Goals suggest, it requires us to be, think, relate, collaborate, and act. At some of the most impactful GGH sessions, we danced, cried, and walked in nature. (We literally danced. Literally cried. And literally went on nature walks. This isn't your typical conference 😂) #Flourishing is a whole mind-body-spirit-environment activity. 2) 🔥 Express authentic enthusiasm. There were moments I lit up - righteous, curious, excited! Sharing those sparks helped ignite and refine our insights. 3) 🌐 Engage with language(s) proactively. Words matter, and a Summit on "Happiness" naturally raises questions about what "happiness" means. It was especially fascinating to explore ideas of happiness that seem true across different people and contexts, and others that differ. While the Summit was presented in English, I was particularly grateful for the conversations I had with attendees in Spanish. Inviting input in multiple languages seemed to unlock more and/or different input from people, and it gave us more words & energies to express our ideas -- which in turn enabled fuller understanding & deeper connections. (HUGE thank you to all my Spanish language teachers and partners!) ### In summary: 1) 🧘🏽♂️ Flourishing isn't something we just "do." 2) 🔥 Express authentic enthusiasm. 3) 🌐 Engage with language(s) proactively. Apply 🔜 by 1 Sept 2024 to speak at next year's GGH. Then tag me in a post next year with your insights!

"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." - Aesop 💜 What if kindness had the power to change our world? Our founder and CEO Esther Sarlo recently published a terrific blog post about exactly that. In today's polarizing world, where everything has to be black or white, night or day, what if we dared to lay down our differences and try something else? I recently had the opportunity to share some insights on a RTHK's Backchat with Andrew Work and Car Ha in preparation for DSE results in HK and shared tips on how parents can effectively manage stress and support their children during the DSE results period. Here are some key points that I feel are important to consider in the coming week: - Put your own expectations aside and be present to help your child process their results, whether they are good or not as expected. - Find and help navigate their options. - Manage your own emotions. - Time time out, when needed. - Listen! - Manage your reactions. - Take the lead from your child and give them time if they need it. - Use this as an opportunity to deal with a setback as a life skill. Recommendations from the National Institute for Health and Care excellence specifically mention how interventions that support positive relationships in looked-after children help improve a wide range of outcomes including educational, relational, and physical, mental, and emotional health and wellbeing. Fundamentally having people you know care about you means a lot. Can you imagine what it would feel like to not feel this about anyone? In particular, having at least one adult other than a parent who takes a strong interest in them as a long-term mentor and role model can have a significant impact. Someone who is there consistently, shows persistence and understanding, and responds both to behaviours that challenge and which are positive. Social workers, teachers and other professionals can play this role, but they're so stretched and have high workloads. So this is what we do at Care to Dance. We understand, we know how to be there for and support our young people and do what we need to, to make sure they know we're there for them - inside and outside of sessions. Every young person will have someone to talk to, whether that be something positive or painful, so they are heard and listened to. We want to help as many young people as we can to have access to this kind of support. But we need your help to do that. We'd love to talk to you about how we might be able to partner or work together, or how you can make our work keep happening. Find out more on our website -
