if you know, you know we insist freedom now ;) jazz music. inventive. (un)predictable. professionals. jamming. sparring with one another. the result something new heard. and why is this relevant when it comes to (ai). if we observe that this retrieval machine takes that which was/is and then offers a predictable or rather adjacently predictable response to others. let's be reminded that alan turing who launched this particular perspective as it applies to de-coding, en-coding. an imitation machine. there may be elements of imitation in jazz. there are. then there are those brilliant moments when something new appears. is heard. experienced. it's the sound of creativity in some of it's finest forms. and to be exposed to it is a joy. nay. inspirational. i've called on this as in this moment we have decided (ai) that attention is all you need vis a vi transformer technology. synthesis is not intelligence. imitation is not intelligence. is it that we are embarking on intelligence is all you need. lol. even that is not enough. we are in a moment where very few are creative. in many ways those who choose this path in tech, art, socially have been dissuaded for reasons of keeping the peace. or rather making sure the system whatever that may be, is predictable. how boring. nature as much as we fight to understand it remains (un)predictable. chaotic. one ought to respect this as we make bold statements vis a vi sam i am that's all that i am sam (alt)man that once we have agi we'll simply ask it of questions. this is problematic for many reasons. we do require chaos in the system. this is the (e)volutionary path. we do require and indeed we believe it's a feature in the universe that it remains chaotic for reasons that may take a millennia to begin to comprehend. and once we do we will have an opportunity to move on. jazz. and other creative sources. literature. dance. my suggestion is that the only moat we have in the face of (ai) is simply this. be creative. source: https://lnkd.in/ekCBUkCd < . >
