💡 In case you missed Stuart Walker's remote monitoring post from last week, it's a super example of just how (financially) beneficial this tech can be: 💬 "It's great having the latest technology to help you make the right decision. Nice example here of one of our clients using the 10kHz Kappa X wireless vibration sensor by Sensoteq. The customer was tracking a bearing fault on a critical roll bearing, with data collected every minute. 📝 The original plan was monitor the defect to the next shutdown in a few weeks, unfortunately the bearing had other ideas! With the increasing trend it was decided to plan for the bearing change soon as possible. Fortunately a small production window opened up with no production loss so this window was used to replace the bearing. Imagine a smart city garbage system! Each building has a tank that collects waste from each floor. When the tank is full, it either automatically sends the waste to a safe disposal area or alerts the garbage collectors. You'd use sensors to detect how full the tank is, motors to release the waste, and a communication system to send alerts. This idea can be scaled up for an entire city!
