Anddd another article for LastWordOnSports.com is outt! In the race in Austria with #GeorgeRussell's victory, #Mercedes confirmed its position as the third force, overtaking #Ferrari. Here's a preview: "But what was a bit destabilizing was the step backwards taken by Ferrari in qualifying. It’s no longer a question of tyre management or temperatures. The problem is that there is no performance and with the updates, problems from two years ago have returned. That is the return of bouncing in high-speed corners. In interviews, the pilots spoke of an increase in load but a limited setup. This will lead the Maranello technicians to have to review the mechanical part to avoid lifting the car. Comparing Austria 2023 and 2024, Ferrari lost the pole last year by 48 thousandths of a second while this year the gap was half a second on a short track." 🏎️ End of an Era, Start of a New Chapter: Lewis Hamilton’s Last Dance with Mercedes 😥 Yesterday, we witnessed something truly historic — Lewis Hamilton racing a Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team for the final time. And fittingly, it was a race that showcased exactly why he’s considered the greatest of all time. Precision, determination, and that relentless pursuit of excellence - it was all on display. It got me thinking... Is there a more successful partnership in sporting history than Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes? 🏆 Eight constructors’ titles, seven (8 👀 ) world championships, and an era of dominance that will be remembered for generations. Together, they didn’t just break records — they redefined them. But as one chapter closes, another one opens. Next season, Lewis Hamilton will don the red of Scuderia Ferrari. They're not just gaining an exceptionally talented driver, they’re inheriting a global icon with a legion of loyal fans. There’s little doubt Ferrari’s fanbase will swell next season, and if they can deliver him a competitive car (which, based on yesterday's performance, seems entirely possible), we could be in for something truly special 🔥 The legacy Lewis leaves behind at Mercedes is untouchable, but his story isn’t over yet. If anything, it feels like the beginning of a brand-new saga. What are your thoughts on Lewis at Ferrari? Can he bring glory back to Maranello? #LewisHamilton #Mercedes #Ferrari #GOAT #F1 #EndOfAnEra #NewBeginnings

In 2002, despite the rumours, #Ferrari decides to take part in the first race of the season with the #F2001, as they are trying to solve some reliability problems on the new car. The other teams and drivers criticise this choice saying that they won't be as competitive as they hope to be. 🏆 However, on Sunday Ferrari proves everyone wrong: Michael #Schumacher wins the race. He crosses the finish line completely alone, eighteen seconds ahead of Juan Pablo Montoya, second, and twenty-five seconds ahead of Kimi Raikkonen, third and on his first podium in #Formula1. It is clear that the Maranello team's decision was the right one. It remains to see when they will take the #F2002 to the track and if their rivals will improve and fight with them for the title. NEW BOOK - FORMULA 1 CAR BY CAR 2000–09 by Peter Higham hits the Evro Publishing warehouse next week! Evro’s decade-by-decade series covering all Formula 1 cars and teams moves into the new millennium. The first half of the decade brought the strongest domination in F1’s history from Michael Schumacher and Ferrari, with five consecutive drivers’ and constructors’ titles. Then came a changing of the guard when young new stars — Fernando Alonso, Kimi Räikkönen, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button — claimed championships. Teams also reshuffled in the decade’s second half, as Renault and McLaren prospered again, and newcomers like Brawn and Red Bull came through, although major manufacturers such as Toyota and Jaguar always struggled. As ever, the cars became faster and technology moved on apace, such that regulations had to be tightened to rein them in, bringing smaller engines in 2006 and considerable aerodynamic constraint in 2009. F1 extended its worldwide reach with new races in Bahrain, China, Singapore and Abu Dhabi. Please click link to read the full press release: https://lnkd.in/dkiRsfxJ

Lewis Hamilton to not drive for Scuderia Ferrari in 2025.... This is what has been on most people's lips today after the Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix. Carlos Sainz, after Verstappen retired with a brake issue, went on to lead the race till the end and win the Grand Prix. This was his first race after coming back from an appendicitis surgery just two weeks ago. He's scored two podiums, and one win across the two races he's participated in this season Lewis Hamilton, on the other hand failed to get off in such a good manner. A 7th and 9th position for the first two races followed by a Power Unit failure at Melbourne means he's not scored points at this GP. Many people are of the opinion currently that Lewis' contract should be torn up and Scuderia Ferrari should re sign Carlos Sainz. But they won't, and I know it. Here's why ↓ ↳ Lewis Hamilton isn't just a racing driver, but a world famous individual. His following itself is more than a few F1 teams! ↳ Lewis is known for his fashionable dressing sense and style - Ferrari can capitalise on this by launching merchandise with his input, and increase their revenue by a significant margin - his fans of which are are tens of millions will certainly buy them in heaps! ↳ Lewis is known for his racing - so as an ambassador for Ferrari, he furthers the brand of their roadcars - elevating the interest and bringing over those who'd have gone for AMG earlier. ↳ Most importantly - he brings a lot of racing skill and raw pace. This man finished the fastest out of all non-Red Bull drivers last year in a car that was 3rd-4th fastest of the whole grid most of the time with just two outliers. Lewis = Racing + Marketability + Brand + Following + Fanbase You remember my earlier post about Ferrari stock skyrocketing when the deal was announced? Yes - it did by billions and still is rising. He's already making money for SF, and not even there yet. His $100M salary at SF pales in comparison, the ROI will be huge, and monetarily - in billions of US$ ! Can't wait for 2025 to come, an exciting season awaits us. Liked my post? Then you'll love how Lewis Houghton writes for motorsport. It's this, but a hundred times better. (he & copynthat know their stuff damn well!) #racing #scuderia #ferrari #lewis #formula1 #contract #australia #grandprix #win #motorsport #races #f1 #sports

Entrepreneurs can learn a lot from watching Formula 1 racing. Take the recently held Italian Grand Prix. For the unfamiliar, there are 10 teams, each with two cars. Currently the two McLarens are dominating the racing. Ferrari is disappointingly in the middle of the pack, where it has been for many years. Their cars are not the fastest, their drivers make mistakes, and many times their strategy is confounding. No one expected them to do well at their home race in Italy. But they had a bold and daring plan. Most teams planned on two pit stops to get new tires. Ferrari knew if they followed mainstream thinking they would once again end in the middle of the pack. So they adopted a one-stop strategy and prayed the tires would make it to the end. If the plan failed, they would end at the back of the pack and once again be berated for poor strategy. But if they succeeded, Ferrari fans would talk about this race for years to come. While the McLarens and other teams made their second pit stop the Ferraris stayed on the track and became first and second. The McLarens exited the pits and the race was on. With new tires they slowly caught up and passed one Ferrari. While they were closing in on the second Ferrari, it was slower than expected. With about ten laps to go there was a chance, albeit small, that the Ferrari could hold on. With five laps to go everyone held their breath. And then it happened; the Ferrari crossed the finish line two seconds ahead of the McLarens. Ferrari wins the Italian Grand Prix! The fans erupted and charged the track in jubilation. One for the ages. So what do we entrepreneurs learn from this? Be mindful of your competition, but no matter how large and well-entrenched they are, there is always a way beat them. By being creative and daring Ferrari accomplished the unimaginable. Also, sometimes you just have to risk it all and go for it. https://lnkd.in/gAvZuK2k

Four teams. Red Bull Racing & Red Bull Technology McLaren Racing Scuderia Ferrari Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team We have four teams consistently in contention for race wins, podiums, and therefore the Constructors' Championship. I sincerely cannot remember a season in recent history that gave us this many options! After Sunday's #BelgianGP it is starting to seem to me like anything is possible. Or well, ALMOST everything. The tyres were about 1,5 kg away from making a one-stopper possible 😅 So what will be the deciding factor in who snatches the title? For the constructors, it will be all about maintaining the ultimate high performance environment: 🧠 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Is it clear to everyone what is expected of them? Does each person on the team know exactly what success looks like in their respective roles? Does everyone understand how and why decisions are made? Our brains crave predictability. In a sport that is inherently unpredictable, clarity in communication sets the team up for success by pushing the brain towards a challenge-interpretation of stressful situations, as opposed to a threat-interpretation. 🧠 𝗡𝗼 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗼𝗽𝗵𝘆 Mistakes will happen. Red Bull Racing had a (rare) 6-second pit stop in Austria. McLaren shot themselves in the foot by not double-stacking their drivers in Silverstone. Ferrari failed to get their drivers into Q3 and scored zero points in Canada because of engine issues. Mercedes lost out on their first 1-2 in years because their car was underweight. It's not about preventing mistakes. It's about learning from them, and making sure they don't happen again. The only way to do that, is by creating an environment in which people don't have to fear failure. A no blame environment allows the feedback areas of the brain to activate, making us much better able to process (and therefore learn from) our mistakes. 🧠 𝗕𝗲𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 I might sound like a broken record, but I will die on this hill: you cannot have high performance without inclusion. People need to feel free to voice their opinions, share their ideas, and question big decisions. If they don't feel heard, seen, and respected for their contributions, their prefrontal cortex will be much less effective. You cannot have problem solving, creativity or innovation without your prefrontal cortex. And without problem solving, creativity and innovation in a constantly changing environment like F1, you'll end up going backwards. This battle will be fought as much at the factory as it will at the track. Who brings the most effective upgrades? Who is most successful at pushing the limits, and rallying the team behind that shared goal of ultimate success: a World Championship? I know we're headed into the summer break, but man am I looking forward to the cars being back on track at Zandvoort in August. 2024 is banging! #HighPerformance #F1 #Culture

As the 2024 #Formula1 season is about to start, I've found myself translating and proofreading this article concerning the 2002 pre-season. 🏎 After two years of unstoppable success with #Ferrari, Michael Schumacher is preparing for another promising season. The F2002 seems very fast, but it has two problems: the new titanium gearbox and reliability. The latter in particular worries everyone in Ferrari and is shown clearly during testing some weeks before the first race. For this reason, Ferrari decides to take part in the Australian Grand Prix with the F2001. In the meantime, #Williams unveils the FW24 and #McLaren the MP4/17 as they hope to be in the fight for the championship. McLaren has also a new driver: the young and talented Kimi Räikkönen, who replaces his fellow countryman Mika Hakkinen. If you want to know more about it, you can read the full article at the link below 👇 #F1 #Translation #Sportstranslation #Technicaltranslation

Sir Lewis Hamilton: A Journey of Triumph and Resilience When we think of greatness, it’s impossible not to mention Sir Lewis Hamilton. A legend not just in Formula 1 but in the world of sports, his journey is one of grit, passion, and an unrelenting pursuit of excellence. Before joining Mercedes-AMG Petronas, Lewis was already making waves. From his explosive debut in 2007 to clinching his first World Championship with McLaren in 2008, he quickly showed the world what he was made of—talent, determination, and a hunger for victory. Then came the Petronas era—a partnership that would redefine motorsport history. Joining Mercedes in 2013, many questioned his decision. Could he replicate his success in an emerging team? Lewis silenced the doubters in the best way possible: with dominance. Seven World Championships, record-breaking pole positions, and countless podiums followed. He became not just a driver but a symbol of resilience and excellence. Through this period, he also used his voice to champion causes beyond the racetrack, becoming an advocate for diversity, equality, and sustainability. Yet, even with unparalleled victories, there were heartbreaking moments. The 2021 season finale will forever be etched in our memories—a stark reminder that life, like racing, isn’t always fair. Now, a new chapter begins with Ferrari—the prancing horse and the unstoppable force. The move is bold, audacious, and brimming with potential. The road ahead won’t be easy, but if there’s one thing we’ve learned about Lewis, it’s that he thrives on challenges. To Sir Lewis Hamilton: Your journey reminds us that success is not linear. It is built on the foundations of perseverance, hard work, and the courage to dream big. As you don the red of Ferrari, we wish you success, joy, and the fulfillment of every goal you set. #DrivenToInspire #LewisHamilton #Formula1 #Ferrari #NeverStopBelieving
