If you can’t answer, just reflect... Do you know any coffee farmer? Did he or she plant coffee in the last 5 years or abandon their crop without care? Did they invest in or reduce their area? How much of this farmer's area (percentage) increased in the last 5 years? If it didn’t increase, how much was eradicated and replaced by better varieties? Has he been managing his area with the goal of renewing branches and foliage through pruning and phytosanitary care? What percentage of pruning does he do per year? How is the exchange rate of inputs for coffee sacks? Is he encouraging proper care of the crop or discouraging it? During dry periods, did he stop treating his crop? How has this producer behaved commercially? Has he been having good results with his crop? Has he diversified into other sources of income? Has he been complaining about his situation? How does he see the future of his business? Is he satisfied or very worried? Is he thinking of selling his farm? Has its value decreased or increased in recent years? ---

(NEW ZEALAND / AUSTRALIA 21.10.24) #beef Thousands of tonnes of Aussie beef imported by NZ [AG: Australia's Premium Beef - A $10 Billion Success Story in Global Markets] From July to September 2024, New Zealand imported nearly 2,000MT of Australian beef, marking the largest three-month import volume since at least 2010. ----- [AG: This is what we know - Australia consistently ranked among the world’s top-3 beef exporters, with export volumes adapting year-to-year to weather, cattle supply and global demand. Despite fluctuations over the past decade, the industry remains resilient, supported by strong trade relationships and a reputation for high-quality beef. Australia’s beef exports peaked at nearly 1.3 million MT in 2014–2015 due to high demand from the U.S. and Asia. Volumes dropped to 1.1 million MT by 2016–2017 as herds were rebuilt post-drought, then rose to 1.23 million MT in 2019 with better access to China. In 2020, exports fell to 1.04 million MT, impacted by drought and COVID-19, and further declined to between 900,000 and 1 million MT in 2021–2022 as herd rebuilding continued. By 2023, exports rebounded to around 1 million MT as cattle supply improved. Our beef exports are driven by demand from China, Japan, South Korea, and the U.S., though trade tensions, competition from Brazil and the U.S. Drought years often see a temporary export surge, followed by lower volumes during herd rebuilding. The 2020 COVID-19 pandemic disrupted logistics and demand, leading to a drop in exports. Despite this, export value has remained strong at around A$10 billion annually, supported by high global beef prices. Australia is the world’s 3rd largest beef exporter, behind Brazil (2.5 million MT) and the U.S. (1.4 million MT). India, mainly exporting buffalo meat, is a close competitor. Australia’s focus on high-quality beef makes it a preferred choice in premium markets like Japan, South Korea, and China, despite occasional trade challenges. Australia’s beef export value, primarily from processed (boxed) beef, totals A$10 billion annually (excluding live cattle exports), driven by high-demand markets. Premium beef remains in high demand globally, supporting Australia’s strong export position. Australia's beef export industry has proven resilient, recovering from environmental and market disruptions to remain a leading global exporter. With a stable cattle supply and strong international reputation, Australia is set to continue delivering premium beef and retain its competitive edge in the market. Australia's beef consumption has varied over the last decade, peaking at 900,000 MT in 2018 (42.8 kg per person). The pandemic caused a drop to 667,000 MT in 2020 (31.7 kg per person). Since then, consumption has slowly recovered, reaching 680,000 MT in 2023 (32.5 kg per person), reflecting stabilization and modest growth.] ----- https://lnkd.in/gZD9f2P8
