Are you 1) a stakeholder in mass tort cancer cases and 2) are you aware of the use of a person's specific genomic data to estimate survival, as illustrated by the article show below and at the link? If not, you may wish to attend ToxicoGenomica's free webinar this Thursday afternoon, June 27, at 2 EASTERN. The webinar is themed/ titled "Courts and Researchers Are Increasingly Focused on Using Genomics in Mass Tort Cancer Cases." We will provide a wide range of big and small picture information regarding the increasing law and science intersections. As always, we are delighted to work with the Perrin Conferences team to provide educational opportunities for all stakeholders. https://lnkd.in/gMiA2z4m Article is open access at the link: https://lnkd.in/gMiA2z4m You can register at the link. https://lnkd.in/gxzuuAHa #genomics #genetics #geneticepidemiology #masstorts #cancer #causation #geneticcounseling

New research sheds light on the role of genetic variants in driving Leiomyosarcomas (LMS), a type of cancer. Key findings: - 27% of LMS patients carried pathogenic germline variants (PGV), with 45% showing biallelic inactivation in tumors - TP53 and RB1 were the most common germline predispositions - Biallelic PGV were more common in soft tissue LMS and associated with younger age - No significant difference in survival rates between germline-associated and sporadic LMS This study highlights the importance of genetic testing for LMS patients, particularly those with soft tissue tumors. Understanding the genetic drivers of LMS can inform treatment strategies and improve patient outcomes. #genomics #cancerresearch https://lnkd.in/gvVR99hN

Smart way for insurance professionals to learn about the use of genomics in mass tort cases.
If you enjoyed my genomics talk at yesterday's Perrin talc litigation conference, please consider attending ToxicoGenomica's free June 27 webinar. It will be hosted by, of course, the great team at Perrin conferences. That day, Ph.D. colleagues and I will provide about 90 minutes of analysis focused on uses of genomics in a range of mass tort cancer cases.
