Shape your future, find your way Exploring potential CSR collaboration with Samson S Subramanian, Business Development Manager at XCL Education Malaysia at Menara Boustead, Kuala Lumpur on 17 July 2024. The private education industry in Malaysia - encompassing K-12 (kindergarten through secondary school) and tertiary levels - has grown tremendously in size and scope in the last few decades. This is in tandem with the nation's economic growth, growing population and rising affluence which have spurred demand for holistic education outside the national school and higher learning systems. Malaysia has set a target to be a hub for private higher education institutions (PHEI) as outlined in a strategic plan called Way Forward for PHEI 2020-2025. It aims to host some 250,000 foreign students at its PHEI by 2030 and forsees the industry to contribute 70 percent to the services sector by 2050. www.xcledu.com

A month before starting my 7th semester as an exchange student at University of Siena (Università degli Studi di Siena) in Italy, I would like to thank Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Ministry of Education and Culture Republic of Indonesia) for the given opportunity with the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards. Here's several take that I would like to share recalling back to my IISMA application process, 1. Take some time to self-reflect: Acknowledging your personal goals, values, and capabilities will help you in determining whether the program is suitable or not for you. 2. Carefully consider the requirements: Due to the tedious selection process, it is easy to be lost in it. Some note taking such as checklist will help to keep track of your progress. 3. Ask for feedback: No matter how bad you think your essay or speaking is, it wouldn't hurt to ask for some review or mock session. It will motivate and help you to improve in needed times. I'm looking forward to experience new cultures and make the most out of this opportunity. Shout out to M.Geovanny Al-Hakim as my mentor from IISMA-AC for the support and guidance for my exchange program preparation. #ToInclusivityAndBeyond #IISMA2024 #StudyAbroad #PersonalBranding

Essay Publication Title: Indonesia Should Broadening Its MBKM Initiative on ASEAN Stage Publication date: 11 April, 2024 https://lnkd.in/gaiZu266 It is one of my earliest work on education, written last year. I just forgot where I save the file, and found it around March this year. While MBKM in Indonesia has reach wide attention among vocational and undergraduate students, only one program allow international student mobility. So why not further expanding the MBKM for broader to ASEAN community? This time, it wouldn't limited to sending student to foreign uni, but also to foreign companies (there are rumours about this, but I yet to see the implementation). And also, broadening the MBKM not will just unilateral act from Indonesia, but also student from ASEAN will come here. Although I understand there are a lot political and economic considerations to conduct such regional cooperation (it might costly and not every countries want to join), by initiating MBKM in ASEAN it could be useful to bring prosperity and further integration in the region.

To New Beginnings✈ The announcement of the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards from Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Ministry of Education and Culture Republic of Indonesia) means a lot to me. The selection process begins with preparing my application. This includes gathering all necessary documents, writing a compelling essay, and ensuring my academic and extracurricular achievements are well represented. I feel that once I have submitted my application, the waiting game begins. I check my email obsessively, anxious to hear if I've made it through to the interview stage. Days turn into weeks, and when the interview invitation finally arrives, I feel a mixture of excitement and nervousness. For me, the IISMA selection process teaches the importance of perseverance and resilience. It's a journey that pushes me out of my comfort zone and requires me to believe in myself even when facing uncertainty. The process also highlights the value of preparation and self-reflection, as each step from application to interview requires a deep understanding of goals and aspirations. The IISMA selection process was more than just a means to an end. It was a journey of self-discovery and growth. The lessons I learned have stayed with me, shaping how I approach challenges and opportunities in life. I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who supported me during the IISMA selection process. To my family, who encouraged me to pursue this dream, even when the odds seemed challenging. To my friends, who patiently listened to my worries and offered words of wisdom. To my mentors Fahima Choirun Nabila, who guided me with their valuable insight of personal branding. #ToInclusivityAndBeyond #IISMA2024 #StudyAbroad #PersonalBranding

"Solo Success: How I Conquered IISMA in One Night" When I, Fathurrahman, decided to apply for the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA), I knew it would be a challenging process, especially without a mentor. What made it even more difficult was balancing my responsibilities at Polibatam, where I hold a leadership position in one of the campus organizations. On top of that, I was deeply involved in project-based learning (PBL) and other demanding academic work. Despite these pressures, I was determined to tackle the application on my own, confident that my unique experiences and self-reliance could see me through. The night before the deadline, with my organizational and academic responsibilities weighing heavily on me, I finally sat down to write my essay. The pressure was immense, but I drew strength from the various challenges I had faced, both in my personal life and in managing my commitments. I knew that my story was powerful because it was real, shaped by the grit and determination required to juggle multiple roles. Despite the exhaustion, I focused on creating an essay that highlighted my growth, resilience, and adaptability—traits that I had honed through my leadership and PBL experiences. To my delight, my essay resonated with the IISMA selection committee, and I was accepted into the program. This experience taught me that with determination, resourcefulness, and a strong belief in oneself, it’s possible to achieve great things—even when faced with overwhelming responsibilities. My journey to IISMA was a testament to the power of self-reliance and the strength that comes from trusting in your own story, no matter how complex or challenging it may be.
