This joint effort felt needed at times when new EU institutions are entering a new mandate and several #employment challenges must be addressed. This morning, I had the opportunity to participate in a new HR table organized by Acerta at Cercle du Lac 🤩 The first part of the morning was dedicated to a 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐨-𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐮𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞. We were informed about new laws, renewals, and adaptations concerning the job market. Several interesting and important topics were discussed, such as training, workplace well-being, and sick leave. Thank you Michaël Zahlen for this update! ✅ The second part of the morning focused on 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 at the global, European, and Belgian levels. Charlotte de Montpellier helped us better understand the current situation and project ourselves into the future (thanks again🙏). Many topics were discussed, which made me want to delve deeper into this crucial theme for the continuity of our activities. Together with Arnout Ponsioen, Aleid Brouwer, and Harm van Lieshout we researcher and reported on 'Challenges and opportunities in the tight Dutch IT labour market', as part of the EFRO HC project ' Make IT work in the North', a project in cooperation with the IT Academy Noord-Nederland, Robin van den Berg, Hanze and NHL Stenden Hogeschool. We grasped insights into employers' perspectives and actions regarding recruiting and retaining staff for IT positions and tried to answer two research questions: (1) How does individual employers’ demand for IT-related labour compare to its supply in the North of the Netherlands? and (2) What are some concrete actions employers take in order to recruit and retain staff for IT roles in the North of the Netherlands? 👩💻 Oline Converstation about #EmployerBranding and #TalentManagemetn toward #attracting and developing #publicservants across the #WesternBalkans Today, we hosted a dynamic online conversation that brought together around 30 public servants, policymakers, human resource professionals, and others dedicated to enhancing motivation and talent management practices in the public sector. 🎯 The focus was on drawing #lessons from #EU public administrations to #attract, #engage, and #motivate public servants throughout their careers through strategic approaches to employer branding and talent management, innovative approaches to induce skilled individuals into public service careers, use of competency-based selection processes for more effective recruitment, and comprehensive talent development from onboarding through ongoing training and skill development, utilizing digital technology. 📌 Moderated by @Jan Majer Sahling SAHLING from the University of Nothingam, and enriched by insights from experts Peter Vandenbruaene (Federal Public Service Policy and Support (BOSA) of Belgium), Pauline Martin (Directorate General for Administration and the Civil Service (DGAFP) of France), and Valentina Miličić (National School for Public Administration of Croatia), the conversation was both informative and inspiring. 💡 This event highlighted the importance of #strategictalent management in creating motivated, empowered public service employees and enhancing public sector efficiency and effectiveness.
