Today less about cyber security but remembering all individuals, families and extended families who were murdered in the Holocaust, a horrifying chapter in history, a systematic genocide during World War II where six million Jews, along with millions of others, were brutally murdered by the Nazis. Remembering this dark period serves as a poignant reminder of the consequences of intolerance, hatred, and discrimination, emphasizing the importance of promoting tolerance, diversity, and human rights in our world today. We must never forget the atrocities of the Holocaust, ensuring that the lessons learned from history guide us toward a future of compassion, tolerance, and respect for human dignity. Please engage with still living Holocaust survivors, they provide a unique opportunity to gain firsthand insights into the horrors they endured, fostering a deeper understanding of history and a profound appreciation for resilience in the face of unimaginable adversity.

Studies in the Road to Understanding... Are you smarter than a middle-schooler? Can you name a ghetto or concentration camp from the Holocaust? Can you identify the countries where camps were? NEW PRACTICES IN HOLOCAUST COMPARISON Holocaust comparison is a growing trend Many Holocaust museums and memorial centers are now engaging in educational activities about different mass atrocity crime events alongside the Holocaust, often in a comparative fashion. Furthermore, many academic courses and programs globally are teaching the Holocaust not only comparatively to other events in which genocide and crimes against humanity were committed, but also as a framework for understanding racism, xenophobia, and other current human rights issues. To “compare” does not mean “to equalize,” but to carefully explore differences and commonalities. Careless comparisons distort understandings of both the Holocaust and other mass atrocity crime events. Taking a cautious approach to comparison helps to reflect upon what we mean when we compare multiple historical and contemporary events

Germany has passed a resolution to protect and uplift Jewish lives. The motion underlines the need for measures to address the recent rise in antisemitism in Germany and around the world: "Since Hamas's cruel terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, we have seen hatred of Jews and Israel-related antisemitism in Germany at a level not seen for decades. The increase in antisemitic attitudes and actions is deeply worrying." Key actions of the initiative include adhering to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance's definition of antisemitism and prohibiting state support for groups that promote antisemitic ideas. By the end of 2024, the federal government will invest one billion EUR in combating antisemitic groups through police training and social media campaigns against disinformation. Germany also takes accountability for its historical responsibility by making individual reparations to Holocaust survivors, totaling 83 billion EUR as of 2023. Additionally, Germany continues significant efforts to preserve Holocaust remembrance and provide education on tolerance and humanity. Germany acknowledges its unshakable and everlasting responsibility for the Holocaust. This moral catastrophe is the lowest point in German history. Against the backdrop of the murder of six million European Jews, Germany has a special duty in the fight against antisemitism. There is no room for antisemitism in our society. We stand against all forms of hatred.

27 January marked Holocaust Memorial Day - a solemn reminder of one of the darkest chapters in human history. This day honours the memory of the six million Jews and millions of other individuals who perished at the hands of the Nazi regime during World War II. It reminds us of the fragility of freedom and the enduring importance of upholding human rights and dignity. Holocaust Memorial Day is a poignant reminder of the consequences of prejudice, discrimination, and unchecked power. By acknowledging the atrocities committed during the Holocaust, we reaffirm our collective responsibility to safeguard human rights and prevent such atrocities from occurring in the future. South Africa’s Constitution resonates deeply with the values upheld by Holocaust Memorial Day: it emphasises the importance of human dignity, equality, and the protection of fundamental rights for all individuals regardless of ethnicity, race, religion, or background. It underscores our nation's commitment to reconciliation and peace-making in the aftermath of apartheid. Let us not only honour the memory of those who perished, but also reaffirm our commitment as South Africans to building a society where human dignity and freedoms are advanced. #fwdeklerkfoundation #holocaustmemorialday #holocaust #unitednations #constitution

Religions are there to unite us and have the target to bring people together in oneness..... It are the human (mis)interpretations making a mess out of this. We need nonviolent interaction as equals. This will lead to mutual understanding and empathy, it will exchange fear and hatred for trust and solidarity, and let humanity grow together in relation to God. www.samadeus.org & www.pax.ngo
