🎉 Celebrating a Year Older, Wiser, and More Seasoned! 🎉 As another year passes by, it's a time of reflection, growth, and celebration. Birthdays are not only a marker of time but also a reminder of the journey we've undertaken, both personally and professionally. So, here's to embracing the emotions that come with getting a year older and appreciating the benefits that come with being a little bit greyer and a little more seasoned. In life, each passing year brings forth a myriad of emotions. We may feel a mix of nostalgia, gratitude, and excitement for what lies ahead. It's an opportunity to take stock of our accomplishments, lessons learned, and the relationships we've nurtured along the way. With every passing year, we gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us. In business, the value of experience cannot be overstated. With each year, we become more seasoned, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table. We have learned from triumphs and setbacks, honed our skills, and built a network of trusted connections. This experience allows us to navigate challenges with confidence and make informed decisions that drive success. Being a year older also presents an ideal moment to set new goals and aspirations. It's a time to reflect on where we are now and where we want to be. With the wisdom and maturity that comes with age, we can set the wheels in motion to achieve our dreams. Whether it's pursuing a new career path, starting a business, or taking on personal challenges, our age brings us the clarity and determination to elevate ourselves to new heights. So, let's celebrate the passage of time, the lessons learned, and the growth achieved. Let's embrace the emotions that come with getting a year older, wiser, and more seasoned. Here's to another year of personal and professional development, filled with exciting opportunities and remarkable achievements! 🥳 #birthdayreflections #milestone #growthmindset #journeyoflife #experience #wisdom #personaldevelopment #professionalgrowth #gratitude #celebration #newbeginnings #goals #aspirations #reflection #lifelessons #networking #clarity #determination #opportunities #achievements #embracechange #positivemindset

Reflections: Sabbatical Week 4 - I made a bold and courageous move to ask a group of close women in my life for ongoing support and accountability in relation to a very vulnerable personal challenge. Asking for help is hard. Not having all the answers is hard. Having people to love and show up for me makes it easier and less lonely. - Got to travel to Georgia and Florida to see friends who I haven’t seen in a longggg time. Getting out of my natural habitat and being exposed to old parts of myself was good and healing. - It’s harder to slow, empty and refresh my brain than I expected. My impulse is to fill the “working” part of life with other “doing” things. I have plans for next week to practice and experiment with being for the sake of being without outside stimuli. - I’m slowly seeing some of the ways that I have made tiny sacrifices and compromises in the last six months in relation to my business values. I’m making note of the small betrayals and trying to identify their roots so that I can move back towards feeling more authentic, aligned, and whole in 2025. - I’m being called to trees and water more than anything right now. Fell in love with this mighty Oak on a walk, and it felt like it loved me back. *** Sending you love wherever you are are your journey. What are your reflections from this week??

🌟 Coming Back Strong: Embracing the Next Chapter! 🌟 Tomorrow marks a significant milestone for me as I return to work after a year-long maternity leave. The past year has been a whirlwind of joy, growth, and challenges, but I'm beyond excited to rejoin the workforce with renewed energy and perspective. Returning to work after maternity leave isn't without its hurdles. Balancing the demands of a career with the joys of parenthood can feel overwhelming at times. Yet, it's also an opportunity for personal and professional growth unlike any other. As a new parent, I've gained a fresh outlook on time management, resilience, and the importance of self-care. Parenthood has taught me to approach challenges with patience, creativity, and a sense of humor—qualities that undoubtedly translate into the workplace. I'm eager to reconnect with my colleagues, dive back into projects, and contribute to the success of our team. While the transition may have its moments of adjustment, I'm embracing it with open arms and a readiness to tackle whatever comes my way. Here's to new beginnings, exciting opportunities, and the journey ahead. Let's make this next chapter one of growth, achievement, and shared success! 💼👶 #BackToWork #NewBeginnings #WorkingParent #ExcitedForTheFuture

Today marks the last day of my third maternity leave with my first day back at #Microsoftadvertising tomorrow. *My learnings* > never leave the house without any baby wipes..! > Cap air travel to <three hours (best for everyone all round 😁) > Bluey is a wholesome show with playful and poignant lessons for children and adults alike..... > Teething doesn't get easier even the third time round... 😣 And yet , what I've also learnt is there is a lot of invaluable skills I can leverage. The constant practice of handling multiple tasks simultaneously sharpens organisational skills. The abundant practice of patience in parenthood hones in on empathy and compassion. The unexpected circumstances and constant learning curves demand adaptability as a child's needs change so quickly, requiring you to learn from your mistakes pronto and deal with problems you’ve never encountered before. Crisis management... daily! Finding creative solutions under pressure exercises your resourcefulness. And finally- perspective. Lots of it. On why you work, how you wish to work, and the importance of role modelling working hard, smart and striving to improve, learn and develop. Looking forward to reconnecting!

🍲 What are you bringing to the potluck? 🍕 Do you ever feel like a beginner? When I got my first dream job two decades ago, I had just joined one of the most well-known companies in the design world. It seemed like every individual I met there was dynamic and interesting and curious and SO accomplished. I hadn’t come in with zero experience, but it was easy to feel intimidated and to discount the skills I already had. I did most of my learning on the job, and I felt like I had to work twice as hard and learn as quickly as possible to catch up. I felt pressure to master my craft in the shortest amount of time. What a difference 20 years makes! Now, as I make my way further into the emerging doula space, I have a completely different orientation. I went to a panel discussion this weekend that was hosted by my friend Jason Popko (hire him, he’s amazing!). As I listened to Jason, as well as a physician and three amazing End-of-Life Doulas, I was filled with respect and admiration for these new-to-me colleagues. As I sat in the audience, I felt gratitude for the opportunity to learn from their incredible experience and rich perspectives. In years past, I would have felt behind. I would have worked to quell a rising panic that says I need to hurry up and fill my gaps! Instead, I felt so light and relaxed. I didn't feel inadequate; I felt proud to be part of this world with them. I realized: I'm not showing up to this potluck empty-handed. Increasingly, I don't feel imposter syndrome, despite the fact that I still have so much to learn. It's freeing. I recognize that I have skills and perspectives I can add. I can contribute to this community and to my clients while also deepening my doula skills. There’s no need to wait until you know it all to be useful. 🍪 What skills or perspectives can you add to the spaces you’d like to be in? 🥧 What keeps you from showing up and stepping in? #experiments #eoldoula #deathdoula #evolution #career #experience #wisdom #endoflifedoula #endoflife #coaching
