I WAS OFFERED A JOB BEFORE THE END OF THE MEETING! Meet Confidence Obinna Nwakanma, a proud Batch 3 graduate of the Workplace Foundational Skills (SFW) Program. Like many young professionals, Confidence admired a top industry leader but had never directly interacted with them. During the program, she gained life-changing skills, including self-presentation through the "Selling Yourself" module, expertly delivered by Dr. AAA. With her newfound knowledge, Confidence decided to take a bold step. Despite initial hesitation, she drafted a personalized, well-crafted email to the professional—her first direct communication with them. Understanding the value of their time, she sent the email, hopeful yet uncertain. To her amazement, the professional responded within 24 hours! Intrigued by Confidence's approach, they requested a virtual meeting. Confidence immediately scheduled the meeting and sent a formal invite. What happened next exceeded all expectations. Confidence recalls: "I was offered a job before the end of the meeting! My confidence level has been over the roof since the end of the program." At SFW, you don’t just learn—you gain clarity and practical skills to transform your career. For a subsidized fee of N37,625, you’ll receive the tools you need to thrive professionally. ⭐ The Professional Skills Framework launches 4 weeks today – are you ready? With only four weeks to go, we want share with you some details on the Professional Skills Framework. This week, we’re looking at Job Families. What is it? What does it mean? The job families are the grouping of jobs related by common requirements for knowledge, skills and behaviour. These are: · Leadership and management · Help, advice, support and service delivery · Validation, compliance, safety, support and enforcement, regulation · Business management and operational support. Beneath these, there are cluster role profiles, which give examples of what kind of jobs you can expect to find in each job family. This will help you to identify where you are, and where you may want to go in your career. The Professional Skills Framework live link will be shared with you in 4 weeks on our website. '𝐈'𝐦 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐲 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐲 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞?' I hear this so often. It's usually because they are not seeing the value in what they do. They are over-thinking it. Or they don't know how to language it. Try this instead..... Simply start writing down everything you do in your role/s on a daily basis. Yes, everything. Even the non-important stuff. Or the things that seem menial. Once you clear all of these out of your mind and onto paper, your brain is being freed up to then find more tasks, skills & activities that you do. The key is to get started and to keep adding to your list. Create a long list and exhaust everything you can think of. Once these are also out of your mind and onto paper, you can start looking at them through a new lens. These are the first steps in our 'Traffic Light Skills Audit' that we took our participants through in our recent Masterclass. The full exercise is in our Workbook: A Guide to Career Clarity. You can grab a copy in the comments.
