When leading a team, don't introduce an unfamiliar piece of technology, especially when it has a steep-learning curve, that's unfamiliar to most individuals in your team just because you know it really well, when you know that there is no bandwidth (measured in seconds) to accommodate the productivity loss to be experienced at the beginning of the timeline/milestone. ...Even if you are available to introduce the technology to them. #softwareengineeering #tip

- Take on fewer things; focus on doing a complete job. - Dependencies destroy flow. Break down and remove dependencies in order to improve your team(s)'s ability to get things done. - Shift your focus toward keeping work moving and away from keeping people busy. - Work creates ROI only when a customer can use it. That means that completing work is more important than being busy. - It's more important for a team to be able to keep work moving than it is to keep the team small. Get work moving first, then think about how to reduce team size without compromising flow.

'𝐇𝐨𝐰' 𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 '𝐰𝐡𝐨' 👇 How do you build the ‘perfect’ team? That’s what Google wanted to learn when they studied 200 teams across their organization. The study discovered that 𝐟𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐝𝐲𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨𝐩-𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐦: 1. *Psychological Safety*: Team members feel safe to take risks and be vulnerable in front of each other. Psychologically safe teams accelerate learning and innovation because their members feel confident about admitting mistakes and offering new ideas. 2. *Dependability*: Team members reliably complete quality work on time and take their responsibilities seriously. 3. *Structure and Clarity*: The team has clear roles, goals, and plans—members know what is expected of them, what they are aiming for, and how they will get there. 4. *Meaning*: Team members have a sense of purpose in their work or the team’s output. 5. *Impact*: Team members believe their work matters and makes a difference. NOTE: Of all the dynamics in this top five, psychological safety had 𝘣𝘺 𝘧𝘢𝘳 the most impact on performance. One surprising result was that *who* is on a team matters much less than *how* team members interact. The number of top performers on a team, or the team’s average intelligence, wasn’t a good indicator of a team’s effectiveness. The diagram lists the practices from my new book that helps a team improve those dynamics.

Is Your Team Giving You the Creeps? Signs Your Team Needs a Systems Exorcism: 1. Your inbox looks like a graveyard of unfinished tasks where good intentions go to die. 2. Team members are disappearing faster than teenagers in a horror movie (into endless email chains and Slack threads). 3. Everyone's working like zombies - mindlessly following outdated processes that should've been buried long ago. 4. Your SOPs are gathering more cobwebs than a haunted mansion. 5. Project handoffs are scarier than a face-to-face with Frankenstein's monster. Remember: Your business can survive on hustle and grit, but to THRIVE, you need: Processes that don't require mind-reading. Systems that work like magic (minus the eye of newt). Teamwork that's more "Dream Team" than "Scream Team". Stop letting chaos haunt your business! Why does your team rely on you for every decision? Quit babysitting and calling it work. Constantly being the go-to for answers, approvals, and problem-solving isn’t sustainable. It’s a sign that your processes lack clarity. (and your team lacks the freedom to thrive) Empowered teams need: → Clear workflows and defined roles. → Accessible resources for self-sufficiency. → Systems that encourage accountability. It’s time to free yourself from the bottleneck. Let’s find the right software(s) and train your team to operate like you're not there.

PRODUCTIVITY When I help company's increase their productivity, one thing I find quite common is that they are actually unclear of what it is they actually need to improve... Bringing their team on this journey is important; 🚨Sometimes they are not doing the correct things, even though they may be doing them well! So this brings into the discussion the effectiveness of what they are doing. 🚨 Sometimes they are doing the correct things but not very well, this then brings the efficiency of how they are doing things into the discussion. What we are aiming to achieve is; PRODUCTIVITY= Doing the correct things efficiently! https://lnkd.in/enmhYtwW
