Are you constantly busy but don’t feel productive? You might caught up on some of that scope creep. 👀 Scope creep in project management is continuous or uncontrolled growth in a project's scope. However, personal projects can get out of hand too. → To-do list grows → 'Yes' is your automatic response → You are constantly busy, but not progressing Here’s one way to fix it → Set clear goals from the beginning. Stop the spread before it starts. ✅ But if it does, take some time off on the weekend. Be honest with yourself & reflect: → Did I define a clear goal? → How are these tasks serving it? → Can I skip some of them? More work won’t make you feel productive if you spread yourself thin. 🤷♀️ You need to prioritise and reevaluate. Trivial tasks and plans pile up as well! Skip that night out. Don’t read another book this month. Instead, set achievable and concise goals. Do less. ✌️ PS: How often do you feel buried under your own goals?

5 Strategies: How to Master Project Chaos and Stay Cool Under Pressure Project management is fast and often crazy. Feeling swamped? Totally normal. But thriving isn't just about managing chaos. Master the calm within it. Here's how to keep your cool and manage well, no matter what. First, chaos is part of the job. Accept it. Projects, especially complex ones, are unpredictable. By accepting chaos, you're not failing. You're gearing up to adapt. Think of chaos as part of your work environment, not a disruptor. Next, set clear priorities. Know not just the milestones, but also what drives success. When things get messy, this clarity helps you decide fast. Focus on what needs immediate attention and what can wait (think an Eisenhower-type matrix). Communication is crucial. It's your radar in the storm. Keep in touch with your team and stakeholders clearly and often. When things change fast, overcommunicate. Use tools that support easy and quick updates. Keep everyone in sync. Sometimes, you need to pause. Even when every second counts, take a break. A few minutes to breathe, a quick walk, or just closing your laptop helps. This reset gives you new insights. Become more self-aware. Managing your emotions helps in tough times. Practice habits like meditation, exercise, or journaling. Stay calm to think clearly and creatively. By using these strategies, you'll manage project chaos differently. Remember, chaos isn't a barrier. It's a chance to shine and innovate. So when the storm comes (it ALWAYS does), breathe deep, prioritize, communicate, pause, and handle it with confidence and clarity.

Managing Various Projects Simultaneously In today's workplace, project managers frequently hold multiple projects at the same time. This can be a difficult task to manage and track the progress of each. However, if you implement appropriate strategies, you can successfully manage your workload and achieve excellent outcomes for all of your projects. Here are some of them: 1. Prioritize and Plan Firstly, assess the importance and urgency of the projects and tasks using the Eisenhower Matrix or any other similar tool, which will give you an understanding of where to begin and how to prioritize work efficiently. Use the SMART technique to set the goals for each project and stay on track toward the right outcomes. 2. Create a Master Schedule The master schedule is a schedule that includes all of the critical milestones and deadlines for each project. It can be useful for tracking progress and managing tasks efficiently. Implement project management software such as Trello, Asana, and Microsoft Project for this purpose. 3. Delegate Tasks Effectively For project managers, it is highly important to delegate the tasks that can and should be done by other team members. If not, managers will spend their time doing regular tasks instead of actually managing the projects. Therefore, project managers should consider the skills and knowledge of each team member in order to assign the right tasks to the right people. 4. Monitor Progress and Adjust Set up regular check-ins with your team to track the progress of execution and problem-solve any occurring issues. Try to prepare for any unforeseen challenges and resolve them immediately when they arise. 5. Manage Stress Maintain a good work-life balance and don't overwork, as it will impact your physical and mental health. Find a few ways to relieve stress and employ it in everyday life. That's all the strategies for managing multiple projects I prepared today. Share your experience and any tips on the topic! #ProjectManagement #Productivity #TimeManagement #Leadership #Teamwork #ProjectPlanning #WorkLifeBalance #StressManagement

You cannot manage 'time'. And, even the Project Management standard, changed it from 'time management' to 'schedule management'. But even that....you can put things into a schedule, but does it really get the outcome? You manage your choices and energy. The root therefore, is reflecting deep, and knowing clearly: 1. The priority: "To know the why, you have to love the who, to pursue the how, you must know why". 2. What actions require ultimate focus, which ones require less? (relates to #1, the higher order actions, need most focus to satisfy the priority) 3. What gives you energy? (how can you do more of that) 4. What distracts you? (for each, set what can minimizes each, but you cannot know distraction, unless you clear on purpose) It is not how much 'time' you allocate as such. But more so, is: What you have to get done truly valuable to your journey and those you choose to love or serve? And How can you generate more focus, and set up ways to get rid of distractions? Again: Priority, Energy, Focus so time management may well be, clarity on life or job purpose how you sleep your stress management what you eat who/what energizes you who/what drains you Choices. Discipline. Many tools are out there. And we often wonder why it does not work. All require first up, clarity of direction.

I followed this really good course called Project Management Tips, from which I learned a lot. At the end of each chapter, there was a quiz. Since the topic of rework has been on my plate for more than 7 years now – https://lnkd.in/dm6aMM6h and https://lnkd.in/d577yRG9 – I can't help but find a similarity between the impact rework has on budget overruns and employee’s motivation. Rework is also a leading cause for burnout, frustration at work, and making the employee lose interest in delivering a task (since they deliver it knowing that they would have to rework it a couple of times). Piece of advice – make sure you get clarity for your tasks and in case of constant demands for rework, explain the toll it takes on time, effort, energy, and motivation. #positiveworkenvironment #rework #advice

Unfortunately the project failed That's a statement every PM wants to avoid at the end of the project. So there is a need to keep in mind that Project management is not just about tasks and timelines; it's about understanding and empowering people. So here are some questions you need to ask yourself as the PM 1. Did/how will you recruit the right people for the team (skills and competency)? 2. Did/how will you ensure everyone involved in the project is on the same page from the start of the project to the end? 3. Did/how will you consider what each individual values; principles and beliefs (honesty, integrity, family, freedom, success, fairness, compassion, and many others)? 4. Did/how will you keep a track record of how well they are contributing to the project, and if their values are still in check? 5. Did/how will you care about their well-being (physical health, mental health, financial wellbeing etc)? It's a new week, treat your project team like human and not machines. With this you've got nothing to be afraid of. Wishing you a great week ahead. Let me know in the comment, questions you ask yourself as a manager to keep your people highly involved towards the success of your project.
