Melanocytes, the cells responsible for your skin color, start producing more melanin. 𝗠𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 that absorbs and disperses the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays, protecting your skin cells. This process helps prevent sunburns, those painful red patches that occur when you spend too much time in the sun without protection.
