🌍 Urgent Call for Action: Preserving Nairobi's Ecosystem 🚯 The recent pollution of the Nairobi River is disheartening and simply unacceptable. We cannot host esteemed organizations like the UN-Habitat and UNEP-WCMC Headquarters while allowing our rivers to suffer. Our commitment to sustainability must be reflected in our actions. Clean rivers, not sewerage, should define our cityscape. Consider the downstream impact on countless individuals who rely on this water for drinking and daily needs. We have a shared responsibility to protect our environment and preserve the delicate balance of our ecosystem. Let's unite to advocate for change and hold ourselves and our communities accountable for sustainable practices. WOPCAA can create a cleaner, healthier, and more resilient Nairobi. #wopcaa #EnvironmentalStewardship #Sustainability #CleanRivers #NairobiEcosystem #UNHabitatYouth #UNEPWCMC #CommunityAction [Your Name] [Your Position] [Your Organization] [Contact Information]

Nairobi River is becoming increasingly polluted by residential sewage and industrial contaminants.Much of the waste will wash up on coasts many miles away.

I have raised this natter severally. Today on twitter i showed how the Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company is throwing raw sewerage directly into Nairobi River. On the other side the Government is spending huge sums of money on a Commission to clean the river! A case of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing! It's a disappointment that Nairobi hosts UNEP AND NEMA HQS,plus a host of other International environmental and conservation bodies. We have failed politically. We are failing on corruption, and failure is becoming a currency in Kenya! We must not allow pollution of the environment in general and Nairobi river, in particular to continue. Ignorance is no excuse for inaction! We can confirm, as we here do, that the impacts of polluting the river is, and will be,dire and cyclic. Our leaders are failing us. Bt they make all the noise on the high cost of living! Only live people will benefit from a low cost of living. The environment kicks hard when abused. Those were the word of the late Nobel Laurate,Prof.Wangari Mathai. I can only restate!
