Infinite Mobility, a Norwegian company, has recently unveiled its latest innovation, the Inga solar-powered cargo bike. This two-wheeled cargo bike is designed to harness solar energy efficiently while providing robust performance and versatility for urban deliveries. - **Solar Power Integration**: Inga is equipped with a 160W semi-flexible photovoltaic (PV) panel and a 36V integrated lithium-ion battery. The solar panels, comprised of three Maxeon/Sunpower interdigitated back contact (IBC) solar cells, are strategically placed on the front cargo area—one horizontally and two vertically—to maximize solar energy absorption. These panels enable the battery to fully recharge from zero after a full day under sunlight, and just one hour of exposure can provide at least 8 kilometers of travel. - **Performance and Capacity**: The bike features a 100nm integrated hub motor, paired with a 16.5Ah battery that offers a range of 60 kilometers per charge. As we get more efficient electric motors and lighter batteries, the next question becomes, how many miles can I get out of a kWh. That question is muddled when your vehicle passively charges occasionally. So you $10.00 fill up comes once every 10 days instead once every 7. This is when the mind shifts to how many days can I go without filling up. Everything to more efficient driving, inflating tires, taking unnecessary heavy things out of the vehicle, until one day you realize you can’t remember the last time you stopped to fill up. With smaller and lighter micromobility solar integrated solar has potential to get us to infinite miles, sustained motion. Your monthly utility bill dropping past zero to being paid for your extra.
