Earlier this year in February, I had the privilege of participating in the UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) course on blockchain for trade facilitation. At that time, the Skyocean project was already progressing, driven by our goal to bring transparency and inclusivity to global trade from a private-sector perspective. Discovering that UNECE: Working Party on Regulatory Cooperation and Standardization Policies (WP.6) is actively promoting and guiding the adoption of blockchain technology at governmental levels was incredibly motivating. At that stage, Skyocean was well underway, but still developing the means to seamlessly connect with external systems and data sources—a critical component for full interoperability. Soon after, I came across OriginTrail’s Decentralized Knowledge Graph (DKG) and immediately recognized its potential to bridge this gap, enabling us to build secure, verifiable data exchanges with external partners. Now, having completed our Proof of Concept, we’re ready to move forward with full platform development, pilot programs, and community engagement. Our development will include aligning with UNECE’s guidelines for trade facilitation, ensuring Skyocean delivers on its promise of a transparent, interoperable and efficient trade platform.” #skyocean #supplychain #globaltrade #unece #unctad
