*** Job Vacancies *** Many companies now, far more than when I first arrived in Africa, are asking for vacancies to be filled by locals. There are still vacancies where an expat, meaning an overseas industry experienced candidate is requested, but this happens less and less now. There will be financial motives for this change a, often a lower salary will be paid to a local, and no “package” of accommodation and car etc will be required. Business is business! This trend does allow for better localisation. There is now a cohort of people in Africa who have years of experience in this crazy industry. This is a whole new thing! Good? Yes, I think so. But do not discount all expats and the benefits that they will bring. A blended mix of the best talent is what is needed, in my humble opinion. A selection of roles currently available where a local has been requested are: * Country Manager - Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ghana * Graphic Designer - Remote within Africa * Customer Service - Multiple countries * Accountant - Ghana, Ethiopia * Head of Marketing - Tanzania * Marketing Manager - Mozambique * Content Wrotee - Remote with Africa There are also roles where clients actually request an expat specifically, I will post those separate but you will see, these are fewer than the roles requesting locals! Please email Keith@afgamelite.com for a confidential chat, also please state your desired salary and any notice period. #vacancies #jobalert #hiring #opportunities #africa #tanzania #kenya #uganda #ghana #zambia #mozambique #ethiopia #remotework #onlinegambling #sprotsbook #onlinecasino #lottery

One major challenge people do mention that they face while searching for job is "lack of job opportunities in their present location". Truth is, your location can limit your chances due to the rare availability of job opportunities there. And the reality is that everyone can’t be in Abuja, Lagos and the likes. BUT Thanks to the globalization and digitalisation of work these days. Work is not what it used to be before when one must work from an office. These days people acquire certain skills and work virtually. Then when you save up you can move to your city of choice or even use the virtual job experience and get a job that will take you to the city of choice. So, if there are limited job opportunities in your location, you can invest your time and learn how to work remotely, build the skills and search for virtual jobs. There are lots of virtual jobs out there on Upwork, Indeed, LinkedIn and the rest. If you have a good skill, you can render it virtually to people and organizations who need it. You can become a VIRTUAL HR Assistant Customer Service Representative Executive Assistant Administrative Assistant IT support Salesperson Digital marketer Data analyst Tech recruiter SEO Specialist Content Creator Social media manager Accountant Telemarketer Graphics designer As a Dr you can work with HMO companies and offer online consultations to patients. Etc. Things have changed. You just have to be informed, commit and dedicate time to upskilling and reskilling. Digital witch support community specialises on training people on how to hack virtual works. Go through Ekwutosi Cynthia Okeh’s wall to see testimonies. Location isn't a barrier. Another way to also move to cities with plenty of job opportunities is to be willing to sacrifice your comfort and look for people to stay with. You can build yourself and apply for jobs in those Cities, when scheduled for an interview, you can solicit for a virtual interview and if you get the job then you look for someone to squat with for some time. Just that some of us have terrible attitudes so people are no longer always willing to help. Reflect and change your story. May we all excel. #hrwithobiora
