Reducing the 25% in government fees, taxes, and charges that new home buyers in the GTA pay on an average home would be one of the most effective ways to lower housing costs. This will increase supply to meet the needs of Canada's growing population. A revised tax approach is essential to address Canada's housing affordability challenges, making it easier for first-time buyers to have a place to call home. At DG Group, we pride ourselves on our commitment to our strong relationships with industry leading organizations and municipalities that we have built over the years. Providing value today for a better tomorrow. Bringing life to land for more than 40 years. Human Rights are not theoretical, nor are they simply national or international ideas. They are the legal responsibility of society to protect and deliver in every community - for each person. They are our human rights and we protect and deliver them every day as the foundation of a civil society. If civility is decreasing anywhere it is largely because we are failing on aspects of this locally. Access to community based social services, like social housing, disability supports, children and youth services, or seniors and veteran aide is a human right - every day, and in every community. In good times and bad, this is how a social safety net supports us all by taking care of each other. #HumanRightsDay
On #HumanRightsDay: Housing is a fundamental human right. People who are homeless or living in encampments have human rights. Let’s raise our voices for #Right2Housing policy that puts people first and creates equitable access to safe, affordable homes. 🏡 Watch to learn more about the right to housing in Canada: https://lnkd.in/ehQKGUAt

On #HumanRightsDay, it’s vital to remember that housing is not just a privilege—it’s a fundamental human right. According to Maslow's hierarchy of needs, shelter is a basic physical necessity, as essential as food and water. It provides the foundation for safety, security, and dignity, enabling individuals to pursue better health, education, and overall well-being. Working with houseless communities, I’ve seen firsthand the struggles faced by those without stable shelter. Without access to this basic need, everything else in life becomes an uphill battle especially with health and well-being. That’s why I advocate passionately for equitable access to safe, affordable homes for everyone. A social safety net that prioritizes housing as a human right can uplift entire communities, ensuring that every person has the opportunity to live a happy and healthy life. Let’s continue raising our voices for policies that put people first—because every individual deserves the security and dignity that comes with having a place to call home. 🏡 Watch this video to learn more about the #Right2Housing in Canada: The Right to Housing in Canada #HumanRights #HousingRights #Equity #Advocacy #Right2Housing

"3 million homes are needed for low-income households (those who can only afford under $1,050/month)." $1,050 isn't that affordable if you look at ODSP and OW rates. The disgrace is that this is 3 Million households (not people households!) a significant portion of our population are having to juggle rent, food and bills. Investment in actual building by all levels of government is the only way to resolve this. If there is a hurricane or other national disaster you don't see "Incentives to encourage the development of property restoration companies" now do you ? Housing is as big an issue as a natural disaster and the housing crisis is getting to the stage that it will (arguably already has) affect our national prosperity and stability.
