This week Portugal Smart Cities Summit takes place with cities such as Portugal´s Guimarães presenting their climate journey as one of the 100 cities selected for the “Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities” Mission. The conference will be held at Aalborg Congress & Culture Center, while Kildeparken will be filled with green activities for all interested. 🎉 On June 6th, as part of the INHERIT project, we successfully kicked-off our Social Labs workshop in Poland (Gdynia) titled "Preserving Our Past, Shaping Our Future: Challenges and Solutions for Sustainable Preservation of Heritage Buildings" 🌍🏛️ This engaging workshop brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including building occupants, public authorities, energy providing companies, and many others, to discuss the pressing issues and innovative solutions for the sustainable preservation of heritage buildings. Key discussions centered around: - Stakeholders & Potential Users: Understanding the roles and contributions of various stakeholders in the renovation process of heritage buildings. - Potentials (Opportunities) – Constraints (Barriers): Identifying the opportunities for sustainable preservation and addressing the barriers that hinder progress. EURESFO is a European initiative driven by ICLEI Local Governments for Sustainability and the European Environment Agency and this year co-organised and hosted by the Ajuntament de València, distinguished as the European Green Capital 2024 by the European Commission.
