🌍 How can research projects actively engage in standardisation? ProbonoH2020 has the answers! We recently had the opportunity to present the PROBONO project at the international (ISO) and European (CEN) levels to the relevant Technical Committees: ISO/TC268 and CEN/TC 465. The presentations sparked great interest as we introduced PROBONO’s mission and discussed potential ways our expertise can contribute to ongoing standardisation efforts. Given that both committees are currently working on standards closely aligned with PROBONO’s objectives, we have officially requested a liaison with both TCs. This will enable us to actively contribute to the development of standards that drive forward our shared vision for innovation and sustainability. Fast forward to our B corp recertification in 2023, our business model had evolved significantly. This change brought new challenges as we were reclassified as a Manufacturer, which meant facing an entirely new set of criteria and documentation requirements. When we finally received our score, it wasn’t just good news—it was a moment of triumph. But the real highlight came when the assessor shared something truly special: Speco is one of the only manufacturers in the world to receive a B Corp certification, and we had achieved a score above 100. This recognition is a powerful affirmation of our belief that no matter how we grow or change, our core values remain the same.
