GLP has begun #construction of a new 38,000 sqm #warehouse in Stary Konik, near the eastern border of Warsaw. The development will contribute to a reduction in #CO2emissions through the implementation of heat pumps, enhanced insulation, and smart metering. The roof, designed to incorporate #photovoltaic panels, will aim to reduce #emissions further after the building is occupied, while the installed electric heat pump technology will provide greater efficiency than traditional gas radiators. In terms of construction, GLP Warsaw VI #Logistics Centre will utilise circular economy practices using materials with documented, reduced #environmental impact, including recycled materials and, as far as possible, supplies from local vendors. " #Energyefficiency is one of the key considerations in all our discussions with clients on the operational costs of logistics #buildings. The project will free building operations from any dependence on gas prices while moving us closer to our goal of developing zero-emission buildings. " Magdalena Górska-Wojtas, business development manager at GLP The construction of GLP Warsaw VI Logistics Centre, designed to meet the 'Excellent' level of the #BREEAM environmental certification, is set to complete in the H2 of 2024.

Join Future Humber for an Energy and Chemicals sector focus group to help develop the Place Narrative for the Humber region. Please join important discussions about the Humber that are currently taking place with businesses and communities across the region and beyond. These discussions are informing and shaping the thinking about how we as stakeholders and citizens of the Humber want our place to develop, and presented and perceived by the investors, businesses, employees and visitors who we want to attract now and in the future. This is of course referring to the Humber place narrative which has recently been commissioned and funded by Future Humber and Bondholders. The work is being delivered by a consortium of experts including HemingwayDesign, CTConsults and Pace Communications. Please join us on Thursday 29th February at 1pm. Refreshments will be provided. CTConsults will lead a workshop exploring and testing emerging ideas and themes. It’s an opportunity for you to influence the project, to meet the consultancy team, find out more, ask questions and see how this development could benefit your enterprise. Such investment is needed now more than ever. We need to talk about what this incredible and often underappreciated part of the world means to us, now and in the future, telling a story about Humber that is ambitious, consistent and most importantly, anchored by a shared set of values. Whatever you think about the Humber, we want to hear it. This is part of a big conversation about the region, as part of extensive consultation. 🙌 We welcome European Parliament support for the Energy Performance Buildings Directive (EPBD), confirmed today. This is a flagship policy of the European Green Deal and is essential to decarbonising the built environment. 🏗 The introduction of energy performance standards for both residential and commercial real estate will scale up the retrofitting of the worst performing buildings across Europe, improving energy efficiency. 🔥 All EU member states will also be required to establish National Building Renovation plans and will need to include a renovation roadmap with short, medium and long term national targets. Importantly these should include a roadmap to phase out fossil fuel boilers by 2040. #EUPolicy #EPBD #RealEstate #NetZero #GreenDeal

📢 NEW PAPER ONLINE! 📢 Take a look at our latest research article, “A novel methodology and a tool for supporting the transition of districts and communities in Positive Energy Districts”, published in the journal Energy and Buildings by Elsevier and coauthored with Elisa Marrasso, Chiara Martone, Maurizio Sasso, and carlo roselli. 📌 The methodology proposed for the energy and environmental analysis of districts and communities relies on the basic concepts underpinning the “Baseline Emission Inventory”, but encompasses the ambitious and challenging objectives characterizing Positive Energy Districts. 📌 To make the proposed evaluation framework accessible to as many user categories as possible, the calculation steps have been transposed into a user-friendly tool: “En-to-EnD. Energy and Environmental analysis of Districts.", which is available online. 📌 The applicability and replicability of the outputs of this work have been proven through the energy and environmental assessment of a reference case study in the South of Italy. 👉 The open-access version of the paper is available here: https://lnkd.in/dky3Se-n. 🤝 This research was partially developed within the IEA EBC Annex 83 Positive Energy Districts working program. 🤝 This work was supported by the “NETPLUS: Neighborhood Energy Transition: towards Positive energy baLance and carbon neUtral diStricts” project (NetPlus Prin).
