2 months at Greenhouse Software! 💚 As I wrap up my second month, I wanted to take a moment to reflect: 💡 Growth Happens Outside Your Comfort Zone: Whether it’s learning new systems, meeting new teammates, or jumping into challenges, the best growth has come from embracing the unfamiliar. 🤝 Building Relationships is Key: In just two months, I’ve seen how important it is to connect with people—both to learn the ropes and to create a sense of community, even in a remote or hybrid environment. 🎯 Progress Over Perfection: Every day, I remind myself that it’s okay not to have all the answers right away. Showing up, asking questions, and staying curious have made all the difference. I’m feeling more settled and excited for what’s ahead. 🚀 If you’re starting something new, my advice is: give yourself grace, stay open to learning, and celebrate the small wins. We continue to talk about Devlight employees in our special project #DevlightEmployeeStory Meet Hennadii Akimov, our Marketing Lead. Before joining Devlight, Hennadii ran his own marketing agency. He had exciting clients and constant challenges, but there was not enough time for life outside of work. He also sought to broaden his experience by working with different markets. Thus, the guy decided to try himself in the IT field. In Devlight, Hennadii managed to find new perspectives for development and work-life balance. It turned out to be easy to readjust to working in IT. Previous experience helped Hennadii here – not so much in marketing but in managing his own business. He can efficiently work with people – to set tasks, delegate, negotiate, and find solutions in non-standard situations. "I realized that I like to create, and right here, I have such an opportunity – to build a department and implement my project vision. If you want to do something, you come to the management with a specific proposal: you have such an idea and need a budget and a team of people. And the company gives you the "green light." That is why I came to Devlight – here you can fully reveal all your experience and potential," says Hennadii. He recalls that the onboarding week at Devlight was fast and as "open" as possible. In the second week, Hennadii began full-time work with projects: he wrote a plan, presented it to the management, and began implementing his ideas into life. Hennadii says he did not have "rose-colored glasses" for his work in IT. He was ready for challenges and understood that in this field, one must constantly learn new things, improve, and take responsibility for one's progress. Hennadii says that Devlight conducts a thorough Discovery Phase before directly starting development. This allows the team to create products that are genuinely valued. And this is confirmed by more than 35 million installed applications. Hennadii admits this is a very cool "breaker": not to talk about some of the company's achievements, but to name the applications you created that almost every Ukrainian has on their smartphone. According to Hennadii, he is inspired by the opportunity to see how something extraordinary is created from "scratch".
