Daily huddles are essential for building chemistry within a team. Sharing moments, whether fun, challenging, or meaningful, brings us closer and strengthens connections. Working in the office isn’t just about getting tasks done; it’s also about creating a culture where team members can bring their full selves, sharing personal stories that are inspiring or relatable. By doing this, we break down walls, build trust, and make everyone feel more invested in each other’s successes and challenges. It’s these small moments of connection that make a team more cohesive and resilient.

People often ask me what, in my mind, defines a world-class team. (‘operate as a world-class team’ is our second of only 3 pillars) Hard to describe other than “You can just tell a world-class team from a performance-neutral team. Whatever *that* is defines the difference.” So I’m always on the lookout for evidence of *that* ⬇️🎖️⬇️ #behindthescenesatSTOPWATCH

Your team is more than just a group of colleagues; they are like a second family. When you invest time in building authentic relationships and show genuine interest in their well-being, you create a foundation of trust and mutual respect. This effort doesn’t just make work more enjoyable, but it also leads to a more cohesive and motivated team. The rewards will become evident in the form of shared success, improved collaboration, and a positive work environment where tasks are accomplished not out of obligation, but with joy and a shared sense of purpose.

Even our small team has core principles that we strive to follow. Principle number one — we document everything in Notion. Why is this important? 🌼 It helps onboard new team members faster 🌼 We don’t have to ask each other a hundred times: "Where is that file?" 🌼 It encourages more thoughtful task setting. We’ve noticed that we can sometimes set tasks too casually in chats, but in Notion, we tend to think things through. How do you keep your team aligned and organized? Share your favorite tools or tips in the comments!

as harsh at it sounds, the best way to make sure you have a high-performing team is to regularly ask: "if this wasn't the person in this role, is this the person I would hire?" if the answer is "no" the first time, chalk it up to a bad patch. if the answer is "no" the second, put together a plan WITH the person to improve and have them meet your standards. you hired them because you thought they would be successful. you have a responsibility to support their growth. if the answer is "no" the third time, invite them to work somewhere else.

Teamwork. This time last year we had an expensively assembled team. But. It was badly led with no direction, no clear goals and everyone pulling in different directions with their own agendas. It was destined to fail. This year is different. A unified team working together and well led. The whole is definitely greater than the sum of its parts. Whatever the result at Wembley it won't be failure, it will be a step towards the goal, because failure can't occur when the goal is clear. The similarities in sport and business are clear. Does your team understand it's purpose? Is your team well led and working towards a shared goal, clearly understood by everyone?
