🍷 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘂𝗿, 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻—and without regular compliance audits, it’s often hard to answer. ⚠️ For on-trade chains, ensuring brand compliance across locations is essential to deliver excellent service, maintain trust, and provide transparency to partner brands. Yet in-house audits can be time-consuming, inconsistent, and disruptive—especially in today’s environment. 🚀 Partnering with an outsourced compliance team like CPM changes the game. With on-trade expertise, these audits are efficient, consistent, and minimally disruptive. They also go beyond compliance—layering data and insights to uncover trends, pinpoint growth, and strengthen brand partnerships. 🌟 By maintaining high standards and delivering actionable insights, outsourced audits foster trust, operational excellence, and long-term success for venues and partner brands alike. Something to think about for venue owners and brands wanting to deal with them. Find out more: https://hubs.ly/Q02XLrmN0 #Hospitality #HousePour #BrandCompliance #UKHospitality

THE COMING DOOM FOR SINGAPOREAN F&B I've come to this conclusion after weeks of analysis, and talking to dozens of business owners. The F&B landscape in Singapore is undergoing a seismic shift, and local brands without the ambition to adapt and grow risk being left behind. The writing is already on the wall. 🇨🇳 Influx of Chinese F&B Brands In recent years, Chinese F&B brands have been entering Singapore at a remarkable pace: As of June 2024, 32 Chinese F&B brands have established 184 outlets in Singapore, with 90% of them opening since the Covid-19 pandemic. These brands view Singapore as a gateway to the ASEAN market, using it as a launchpad to refine their strategies before further regional expansion. Luckin Coffee, Haidilao, and Chagee are examples, bringing extensive resources, data-driven approaches, and competitive pricing strategies into the market. They compete with local brands to secure prime retail spaces, hire operational labour, and bring marketing and operational tactics honed in a much larger, highly competitive and more sophisticated Chinese market. ⌛ The Rise in Local Closures Local F&B businesses are struggling to keep up: On average, more than 200 F&B establishments closed monthly in 2023 and 2024. You read that right. 200 closures. Monthly. This exceeds the 170 monthly closures seen during the pandemic year of 2020. Even well-established local names like Tippling Club and Ristorante Da Valentino have had to shutter their doors, signaling the challenges even premium brands face. They give the following reasons for their closures: - Rising rents and operating costs. - Difficulty competing with the scale and resources of international entrants. - Lack of innovation to adapt to the evolving market. But these issues challenge the new entrants and they do well, so they make for lousy excuses. In my opinion, the core reason is A LACK OF PURPOSEFUL AMBITION. 🚀 Ambition: A Matter of Survival In today's business context, Ambition is no longer an option—it’s a necessity. Local F&B businesses need to grow on pace with the competition in order to survive. You don't bring a knife to a fight when everyone else has a gun. Some even have cannons. The next 5 to 10 years will determine the fate of many small and medium local brands. Without the ambition to grow, adapt, and compete, they are on the road to being eliminated by competitors with greater resources and a bigger hunger for expansion. How can local Singaporean brands rise to meet this challenge? What strategies should they adopt to survive, and thrive in this highly competitive landscape? Ambition is no longer an option; it’s essential for survival. Let’s start the conversation. Ring the double bell 🔔 on my profile. I am Kenny Lim, the Ambition Amplifier, an #LBFAlumni member at #SkyHighTower.

This is a trade show for people who don’t like trade shows. And who love coffee. I just attended the COHO Expo: The Coffee & Hospitality Expo, co-located with The European Coffee Symposium in Berlin and spoke with the founder Ludovic Rossignol about their new event: COHO—Coffee and Hospitality. This new event disrupts the traditional trade show model to better meet the needs of modern businesses. Here’s how: Purpose-built for coffee and hospitality: Held in a 5-star hotel InterContinental Berlin, COHO focuses on connecting high-end buyers, bars, and suppliers through curated experiences. Hands-on experiences: Visitors can explore workshops, masterclasses, and barista competitions, discovering new brands while interacting with trusted ones. -> Coffee is serious business: Offices, fashion brands and hotels are placing increasing value on offering high-quality coffee. I also spoke with several exhibitors to understand why events like this matter: They help build lasting relationships (be patient—it takes years!). They keep brands top of mind in the industry. They’re the place where trends are created and shared. This was one of the few events I’ve attended outside the event industry, and I left inspired by how events like this drive real business growth for brands. How important is coffee to the success of your events? Let me know your thoughts! ☕
