One needs to work hard on bringing the cost down, and since solar and wind frequently require upgrades of the grids, unforeseen costs of transmission, or batteries, the CAPEX becomes an issue. The transition to renewables is happening and in the Northern Territory Sydney-based startup NRN - National Renewable Network is partnering to bring solar energy to 30 social housing properties. The project allows residents to benefit from solar, without investing in renewable assets. NRN's CEO Alan Hunter says the initiative could prove to be a blueprint for national expansion. Greenbacker , an independent power producer and energy transition-focused investment manager, has announced it has secured a whole bunch of its namesake. $950 million, to be exact, in aggregate financing to support the acquisition, construction, and operation of its largest clean energy project to date.

Innova has successfully completed on the sale of Ducklington Solar to Schroders Greencoat LLP. This marks the fifth Innova project sold to Schroders Greencoat, bringing the total capacity within our partnership to over 110MWp. Christian Miller, Investment Manager at Innova, said: “This acquisition represents over 110MW of solar projects now sold to Schroders Greencoat as our strategic investment partners, which contributes significantly towards our goal to deliver the UK’s Net Zero target.” Matthew Yard, Co-Head of Solar & Storage at Schroders Greencoat, said: "The CfD-backed project underscores our commitment to delivering long-term, inflation-linked returns for our investors while also accelerating the UK’s transition to a low-carbon future." Ducklington Solar secured planning consent in March 2022. Construction is due to commence in Q1 2025, with generation targeted for early 2026.
