AGI's advanced data processing capabilities hold significant promise for urban planning, enabling the design of smarter cities through optimized energy use, reduced traffic congestion, and enhanced public services. For instance, in Cascais, Portugal, the city implemented a digital command center, C2, which integrates data across multiple municipal domains, leading to improved operations and cost savings. This system has optimized waste collection routes, reduced CO2 emissions, and cut operating costs by up to 40% . In Hong Kong, real-time traffic data from sensors across major routes is used to manage congestion, and AI systems monitor energy use, enhancing the efficiency of urban infrastructure . Vienna's VeroCity platform, powered by the European Commission’s Context Broker, utilizes big data to manage urban mobility, environmental monitoring, and energy efficiency, thereby facilitating smarter urban planning and public service delivery. These implementations demonstrate how AGI can leverage data from various sensors to dynamically manage energy distribution, optimize traffic flows, and predict public service demands. In this video, we demonstrate how large-scale point clouds and meshes, provided by our partners at Etteln and Fiware in DIDYMOS-XR Project are rendered for a city use case. The demo highlights the power of rendering these complex datasets locally, but also reveals some of the challenges we face when transferring large point clouds from a server.
