This is without a doubt the most exciting phase of the information lifecycle where its value and potential are limitless in enabling innovation on your asset. 7️⃣ Optimise | How the Asset Information Model can optimise your building 🤔 How can an Asset Information Model ‘optimise’ your building? Having an AIM that is used in operation and maintained, like we learnt in stages 5 & 6, can optimise your asset, but we can take it a step further. 🗄️ Your AIM is a single source of truth for simple, yet very important data about the components and spaces within your building. 📈 The amount of data produced by a building in operation dwarfs the amount of data produced in the design and construction phase, so the potential for this enormous data set to get mis-aligned and uncoordinated isn’t just probable, it’s almost a certainty. 💰 That is of course unless you use your well-maintained AIM as a foundational element to brief and align all of the operational and ‘smart’ technologies that you implement. If they’re producing data that is aligned, it can be analysed and even monetised. ⚡ By connecting an Asset Information Model Common Data Environment (AIM CDE) to a platform that analyses building data and your CAFM, for example, you create a loop of measurement, action and improvement. You’ve just supercharged your Building Management System (BMS) and enabled unparalleled opportunities for optimising your building, creating a better space for its occupants and generating more value for its owner. ➡️ Prior to being transferred to a new owner, the optimise phase is the pinnacle of the information lifecycle.
