What To Know About Hezbollah: — It is an armed paramilitary and legitimate political group in Lebanon (a state within a state). — It is separate from Lebanon’s military. — It has lawmakers who have served in Lebanon’s Parliament since 1990. — It rose to power in 1982, when Israel backed by its western colonialist allies invaded Lebanon and caused divisions, violence, and warfare among the country’s very diverse population and political factions. — It opposes the Taliban and ISIS. — It has one of the world’s top intelligence services. — Its armed forces is as big and powerful as a medium-sized military. #Gaza #Palestine

For your consideration: 1) A major military force - Hizbullah - operates from within Lebanon, claims to do it on behalf of Lebanon and Iran, and yet somehow both states avoid culpability because “non-state actor”?? 2) Said military opens war, attacks neigboring country - Israel - unprovoked in order to prevent attacked country from taking effective action against another attacker and fellow Iranian asset - Hamas - and those parameters are accepted? 3) Said military says will cease attacks when fellow attacker - Hamas - is shielded from the consequences of its brutal attack on neighboring country, and those terms are just taken as is??

The Russian bases are on the Mediterranean coast, which means that if Homs falls, the approximately 3,000 troops, 2 dozen planes and some Russian warships will be isolated from Damascus. As we can see, the capital Damascus is already under direct attack, with videos showing cities just 5km away already under control of anti-Assad forces.

Ceasefire Israel has signed off on a US-backed ceasefire with Hezbollah in Lebanon. The aim is to present the 60 days long truce not as a “compromise” but as beneficial to Israel. The ceasefire allows for Israel to retain the right to carry out military operations on the Lebanon-Syria border. The big challage is that most north Israel inhabitants can't return to their homes. Israel is simply "passing time" till the Biden administration leaves office. Once Trump steps in, things will change dramatically for the better, and deterrence will be restored. Today, the #Syrian regime has reportedly lost contact with Maher al-Assad, the #brother of Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, following an Israeli airstrike that targeted his villa near Damascus. #Maher, who commands the elite 4th Division of the Syrian Army, was said to be hosting a high-level meeting with Iranian leaders at the time of the strike. The 4th Division, known for its close ties to #Iran and its involvement in protecting the Assad regime, has been a key player in Syria’s internal security and military operations throughout the civil war. Israeli airstrikes in Syria are often aimed at curbing the influence of Iran and its allied militias, which have entrenched themselves in the region. While the full extent of the damage from today’s attack remains unclear, the loss of contact with Maher could signal a significant disruption within the regime’s command structure. The presence of Iranian officials at the meeting further underscores the deep military cooperation between Syria and Iran, a partnership that has long been a point of tension with Israel.
