How can you give concise little interview answers about big skills and accomplishments? Via *expandable answers.* Here's how: First give an answer that’s no longer than 60 seconds. In fact, err on the side of being too brief. Then simply end with an offer to say more: “Would you like more detail about any part of that?” That way your "little" answer can grow (like these puppies)! Sometimes, even a simple task like writing code to #reverse a string with minimal conditions can take time during an interview. In the end, we often spend more time on it than expected, and still no results ! . . There are people with 6-8 years of experience taking more than 50 LPA(I know the number of people is less), but on the other hand, some people are not even able to answer the simplest questions like #authentication, and #authorisation sometimes. Do you want to be more memorable and confident in interviews? When you prep, don't 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 write your responses in a spreadsheet. 𝗧𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱! It will help you: (1) 𝗚𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 It improves your delivery and confidence, reducing filler words like “um” or “uh.” (2) 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆 It makes it easier to recall your talking points (without relying on your notes). YESSS!!!! Sure, I’ll put together a strategy for you while I’m not employed by the business and I have: No visibility over your budgets. No visibility over the teams and resource available to deliver said strategy. No visibility over what has been tried and tested previously- or the results. No visibility over future strategies (I could be completely barking up the wrong tree). No visibility over what had been brainstormed and presented previously and what has been loved and completely hated by the key decision makers. I mean I could go on. Every time I have drafted a content plan or strategy my feet have been firmly under the table in a business and I have understood the budgets, direction of the business (or lack of in most cases 😂) and had visibility on all of the above. Strategies and content plans as an interview task are lazy, ludicrous and a waste of the candidates time (who is already going through enough!) Surely experience is enough???
