In another Microsoft Word update, the default paste option will be to merge the formatting, rather than having to select it as a paste option. This is a game-changer. According to The Verge article, " Unlike the previous 'keep source formatting' default, the 'merge formatting' option preserves the original bold and underlined text, along with list and table structure." Have you noticed this change? How does this impact you? Comment below! #mergeformatting #microsoftword #microsoftupdate https://lnkd.in/gSNzmuGE

Do you miss WordStar? If you're my age, you likely used WordStar at one of your jobs. It was the first "professional" word processor I used after using Electric Pencil on the TRS-80 personal computer. WordStar wasn't a WYSIWYG environment. It couldn't do everything that Microsoft Word does, but it got the job done. Any shortcomings or missing features helped spur the development of other word processors. Check this link for an Ars Technica story on the "return" of WordStar and where you can download it to relive memories. https://lnkd.in/dZmVvarn

🎨 USING MICROSOFT WORD STYLES 🎨 The styles function in Microsoft Word has saved me heaps of time over the years, as it allows me to quickly set the style for all text in documents: everything from headings, sub-headings, body text, bullet points, tables and contents pages. While it’s really useful, it’s not immediately obvious how to use it if you’re not familiar with it. The Sorted team have put together a comprehensive guide to help you get started, available for free from our website 👇 https://lnkd.in/ebM3rMGH #MicrosoftWord #styles #freeresource
