❌ DEAL OFF ❌ Harmonic has confirmed that current market conditions do not support value creation objectives for the video business, following a drawn-out strategic review process that began back in October 2023. The company will not entertain lowball offers from private equity firms, and gives the usual spiel about driving future profitable growth by focusing on scalable market opportunities, streamlining operations, and optimizing cost structure. In other words, major structural changes to come at Harmonic, once NAB Show 2024 is done and dusted, starting with Nimrod Ben-Natan as new CEO. Faultline will follow up with a deep dive following next week's meeting with Harmonic in Las Vegas 🎲

I lost huge deals in 2024, my first year as an AE. Here’s what I learned: 1. Timing. Too much discovery = missing the buying window. Lesson: Understand urgency & timeline. Ask, if unclear! 2. Champions. I relied on one champion who later left the company. Lesson: Build multiple champions in the buying team. 3. Control. I let the client set the pace, and the deal dragged out. Lesson: Next steps, timelines, and follow up purposely. 4. Happy ears. I celebrated too early when I got verbal agreements. Lesson: Keep the momentum until contract is signed. 5. Post-mortems. I didn’t reflect on my losses. Lesson: Analyze lost deals. What went wrong? What could be done better? Painful to go through but I learned things I'm taking with me to crush 2025. P.S.
