These are my tried and true methods on how I help kids read without worksheets. I keep it tactile, and it is both enjoyable and successful for students with #dyslexia and #ADHD. Do you name and shame in your classrooms? This one hits home really as my eldest son really struggled with this during his EYFS experience and in Y1. So much so it began to erode his confidence and love of school. You know what I’m talking about - Star charts ⭐️ Thunderclouds ⛈️ Rainbows 🌈 For some kids (mostly those who are rule followers) this works, for others it’s entirely damaging. You essentially are naming and shaming publicly in the classroom.
