What can we learn from the religious stories in the age of #AI and #Digital? As much as they tell us what to do, they guide us by telling us what NOT to do. Over the weekend I had a chance to visit #Mahakaleshwar Temple in #Ujjain, #India. A Hindu temple dedicated to Lord #Shiva and is one of the twelve #Jyotirlingas, shrines that are said to be the most sacred abodes of Shiva. (Check: https://lnkd.in/guQKU_Zu) While the temple has many beautiful new and old artifacts and sculptures, one of those (which I can take pictures of) was in public where King Ravana was depicted as lifting Mount Kailash (Lord Shiva's home). Some of you might know that Ravana was killed by Lord Rama. But before knowing the "end game" you may want to know who Ravana was. Ravana was among the highest scholars, had the best brain and talent, and was the most powerful king of his time. (His 10 heads and 10 hands represent his brain and muscle power). He was even more powerful than the most god, in mind, money, and muscle. Ravana was the most loved deity of Lord Shiva, and Shiva being humble in nature gave him even more powers and knowledge. Unfortunately, as Ravana became more powerful, he became arrogant, egoist, and narcissistic, and his mind started to corrupt, even to the extent of winning over his guru, the Lord Shiva. Ravana decided to uproot Mount Kailash. He put all his twenty arms under Kailash, and started lifting it. However, the omniscient Shiva already knew that Ravana was behind the menace, and pressed the mountain into place with his big toe, trapping Ravana beneath it. AI (the knowledge) is not bad or good, but whose hand it is in and how it is used. We have multiple AI initiatives by the Big Three, and many more are in the race with billions invested. At the end of day #AIForGood #EthicalAI, #ResponsibleAI shall prevail. While we must continue and accelerate the #AI initiatives, we need to be more sensible, and mindful that we dont end up fighting AI with AI. #Cybersecurity, #DataGovernance, #DataPrivacy, #DataSecurity #DataMonetization without trust and control may create a mess. As an individual or as an organization, you can always choose which side you want to be.
