This week, the Protolabs Amsterdam Talent Acquisition team had the incredible opportunity to attend the hired!bcn conference in Barcelona and it did not disappoint. These events allow our teams to stay up to date with the latest topics, tools, trends and data from employer branding on a budget to driving DEI initiatives in the workplace to making your recruiting processes truly data-driven. As a DEI advocate myself here's a summary of the lessons learned from Oana Iordachescu - always a pleasure! 👉 In DEI the narrative will be challenged - should it be a part of HR's goals or is it about time DEI has its department, strategy and goals? You decide! 👉 Diversity is always going to keep evolving (It's not a dead topic, particularly here in Europe) 👉 AI is not new, but let's embrace it with care. There's still a human at the other end. 👉 Pay transparency and legislation is real. Let's get ahead of the curve. 💭 Reflecting on the first ever independent People Mobility Alliance event… What a whirlwind of a day! The International HR Tech Conference brought together so many bright minds in our industry - let’s just say I am EXCITED for the future of people tech! I am still collecting my thoughts from this amazing day, but here are some standout moments to start: 🔷 There was lots of discussion around AI and other tech tools. Yes, there is a lot of excitement and adoption, but there is also still scepticism and challenges, particularly around compliance. It was great for us to have so many open and honest conversations about what is working and what isn’t. 🔷 The panels were a real highlight for me. We really got to understand how organisations are implementing tech and the opportunities they see coming up - it was great to hear these things being addressed head on! 🔷 One of the best feelings was walking around and hearing snippets of conversations. The best thing? We weren’t just moaning about the problems and challenges our companies are facing - we brainstormed solutions! A real growth mindset and true advocates of #MissionPossible! 💪 🔷 And finally, the networking game was strong in everyone today! Not only were ideas shared, but business cards and contact details too - I see lots of collaboration in the future! 😍 I want to take a moment to personally thank James Parsons, all our sponsors, partners and speakers for today’s AMAZING event! Soooo many announcement, updates, etc to provide....but first! I promised to share my answer to the icebreaker question that I had at the #RethinkHRTech . #IntranetReloaded event last week! ❓ The Question: How can HR Teams support ERG Leaders via digital platforms? 💬 My Answer: (hot take, per usual) is NOT to invest in new ERG specific softwares, but instead to teach ERG Leaders how to use the digital platforms that they already have access to for free. It's quite wild to me that most ERG Leaders don't fully know how to leverage Slack's Canvases, or use Team's audio function, or check out their intranet page's analytics, or automate DM's in Facebook's Workplace, or even view Yammer's analytics. This is a problem...one that most paid softwares don't even solve for...and all of these things are FREE. Trust and believe- The ERG Movement will be solving for this in the very near future. I understand the reason why most ERG Leaders aren't taught this is because 🅰️ The HR/DEI Leader also doesn't know this exists. Most employees aren't thoroughly taught how to use their existing platforms. Not sure who's to blame for that or even if blame is necessary, but it is a huge gap. 🅱️ If you were to list alllllll of the opportunities that exist with your current platforms, it could feel overwhelming for you and/or the leads...without processes. Yep, back to the 2nd P of #TheERG3Ps If you don't take the time to build these out, then there's no one stop place to note all of these capabilities. both A & B takes time, something that most don't have in this space.
